Games-Time Training Venues will be used by athletes from approximately 170 countries to help them train and make final preparations immediately prior to and during the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

Each venue must meet the requirement of being no more than 30 minutes’ drive from the Paralympic Village, and will offer medical facilities and changing rooms.

More than £17 million is to be invested in a range of schools, universities, sports clubs and leisure centres across London and throughout the UK, bringing them up to world-class standards. As part of the London 2012 drive to leave a lasting legacy, the facility upgrades will be available to local communities for public use after the Games.
