Anderson sparked the run that saw Canada take the lead early in the second quarter, and although Australia fought back to level it 48-48 with 7:30 left, Canada - and Anderson - proved too strong down the stretch.

Earlier, the USA beat Great Britain to win the bronze medal. Britain's shooting touch deserted them when they needed it most and they missed out on a third straight Paralympic bronze 61-46.

The tone was set early on, with neither team able to score in the opening 2:30 before Steve Serio got the USA started.

he British duck was not broken until 4:20 in when Ade Orogbemi raced through for a lay-up. The USA were making the most of British struggles, and Serio soon made it 12-6.

Joe Chambers was looking in inspired form for the USA, and he reeled off eight straight to power them into a 25-12 lead while the turnovers and misses piled up for the Host Nation.
