The heart of the Thai Elephant Conservation Center's link with culture is that it is favored with royal patronage, including the honor of being chosen to care for six of the King's auspicious royal elephants ('white elephants') at the Royal Elephant Stable. All royal visitors to the TECC have works of art from our Elephant Painting in their collections.

HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX), Thailand's beloved King, is a constitutional monarch and the longest-reigning monarch in Thai history. He is the world's longest-serving head of state. His Majesty has never visited the TECC, but in 1978 he did graciously visit the Forest Industry Organization's world famous Young Elephant Training Center (now Pang La Sanctuary), accompanied by HM Queen Sirikit and two of their daughters, HRH Princess Sirindhorn and HRH Princess Chulabhorn.

HM Queen Sirikit, the world's longest serving consort of a monarch, has visited the TECC four times, in 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2005, most often in conjunction with a stop at the nearby Doi Pha Meuang Wildlife Sanctuary to release domesticated elephants being reintroduced back to nature. (Many of the elephants in this program have been managed by the TECC's veterinary staff.) On her 2005 visit, she enjoyed a command performance by the Thai Elephant Orchestra.

HRH Princess Sirindhorn, the King's second daughter, is often affectionately called Prathep or 'Princess Angel'. She visited the Young Elephant Training Center in 1989, and in 1992 presided at the official opening of the TECC. In a 2001 visit, she accompanied Queen Margrethe and HH Prince Henrik of Denmark. In 2010 she visited to conduct a ceremony for Phlai ('Tusker') Thongsuk, a white elephant, and also to visit Phlai Boonlert, a crippled elephant gifted her by the people of Ubon Ratchathani and then entrusted to the TECC for care.

HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana, recently deceased, was the King's elder sister. She first visited the TECC in 1994 and again in 1999, always taking a special interest in the Hospital Work. In 2002 she visited two female calves she had adopted, Prathida and Wanalee, and she also presided over the founding of the National Elephant Institute, of which she was the patron. Her last visit was in 2005.

Many other royal personages of lesser rank have visited the TECC.
