Daily Post community awards

The Daily Post has begun a search for the unsung heroes and heroines of North Wales.

Welsh Dragon Awards celebrates the achievements of people across the region who’ve shown extraordinary courage or community spirit.

The honours are handed out monthly, shining a spotlight on those who’ve selflessly helped others, demonstrated excellence, or simply beaten the odds to overcome the obstacles life has thrown at them.

Winners are people who have featured in recent stories on our newspaper pages and who we think deserve extra praise.

Each are presented with an exclusive Daily Post-labelled sterling silver Welsh Dragon pin-badge to wear with pride.

And if you meet someone wearing one you will know they are a true hero.

The Welsh Dragon Awards continues a tradition stretching back almost 130 years putting the Daily Post at the heart of the Welsh community.

And we are as active today as we have ever been; supporting causes that really matter to you.

Daily Post Editor Rob Irvine said: “Our pages regularly feature stories of people who have risked life and limb to help others, or shown great bravery.

“We’re delighted to launch these awards to celebrate their achievements and ensure they receive the recognition they deserve.”

Anyone can suggest someone to be considered for an award – either by letting us know that you liked a particular story we ran and would like to see the person involved honoured, or by suggesting a new story that you’d like us to cover.

We want you to get involved, and although we can’t guarantee your suggestions will make our final monthly shortlists, we’ll publish the winner on the first Monday of each month to keep you up to speed.

If you know someone whose story you’d like to see in the paper, and who you’d like to see considered for an award, phone our newsdesk on 01492 574 452 or email welshnews@dailypost.co.uk.
