You know those once-in-a-lifetime experiences, when you get to do something you’ve always dreamed of doing and you know you’ll remember it for a long time?
Getting married was like that for me, and the births of my children, and bringing my twins home from the NICU. That’s first-tier stuff. But the experience I had on Wednesday falls firmly in the second tier of things that will stick as incredible memories.
I’ll turn thirty this month, and my husband and I will have our tenth anniversary. To celebrate... READ MORE

Over at In the Sheepfold, Kelly is working on compiling a list to teach her children all about church history through movies. Brilliant!
The history teacher in me is all about people and places and dates. The Catholic in me wants to crack open the lid that is the treasure trove of our faith and stand in awe at the work God has done through ordinary men and women throughout the ages. I hope all of us come away with a deeper understanding of the communion of saints, with a broader view of different... READ MORE

My sister emailed me this sweet photo of my nephew Tyler last night with a note about a potential blogging topic. Ty is Erin’s younger son, and he and his brother Evan keep Mom and Dad pretty busy these days. With the school year looming, Erin has declared August “unscheduled”, which means everything from no day camps to a relaxed bedtime. This photo shows the results of Ty and the “play until you drop” fun that the boys can expect this month.
I’m doing the same thing around my home. While my almost... READ MORE
