In an exclusive interview with Chelsea TV ahead of tonight's opening home game against Reading, Juan Mata, last season's Player of the Year, has spoken of his desire to improve on his debut campaign in England.

The Spaniard, who capped a remarkable season which saw him win both the Champions League and FA Cup, with a goal for his country in the final of Euro 2012, is now looking to emulate what he achieved over the course of the 2011/12 campaign, starting with the visit of Reading tonight.

'It should be a fantastic atmosphere for sure,' Mata tells Chelsea TV. 'As always, it will be sold out, and it will be fantastic to meet with our supporters again.

'Last year, my first season here, was amazing for me personally, but I want to improve, and I think I can because I'm stil young and that's what I always want to do.'
