NBN Co has confirmed an iTnews report that its CIO, Claire Rawlins, has quit, almost three years after taking the role.
Originally from the United Kingdon, Rawlins was appointed as CIO in late 2009 shortly after NBN Co was created to provide a high-speed broadband network across Australia. She was responsible for developing IT strategy and delivering NBN’s applications and systems.
Rawlins had turned down two senior positions at financial institutions before taking the job.

Rawlins most recently reported to chief operating officer Ralph Steffens and worked closely with NBN enterprise architect and second in command Bill Barnett.
She previously held senior positions at British Telecom, US telco Qwest, British investment bank Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein and financial services provider Fidelity.
The circumstances around her resignation were unclear at time of publication.
