○STORY
A chance encounter amid the festivities of Guardia's Millennial Fair in Leene Square introduces our young hero, Crono, to a girl by the name of Marle.
Deciding to explore the fair together, the two soon find themselves at an exhibition of the Telepod, the latest invention by Crono's longtime friend Lucca.
Marle, fearless and brimming with curiosity, volunteers to assist in a demonstration. An unanticipated malfunction, however, sends her hurtling through a rift in the dimensions.
Taking hold of the girl's pendant, Crono bravely follows in pursuit. But the world into which he emerges is the one of four centuries before...

Needs work
This is a tough review to write, because I honestly believe that Chrono Trigger is one of the best RPGs in existence.
Unfortunately, this port of it would really benefit from some work. The graphics look somehow worse than they did on Snes, when it was released over 15 years ago. Moving the characters around is awkward at best, and this could be remedied simply by including a control style that includes a single button on the right. Some of the graphical elements -- like numbers that pop up during battle sequences -- just look plain awful.
Again, this is in my opinion one of the greatest games ever made. If you haven't played it, you absolutely should. But those who played it before, especially on SNES, are likely to be disappointed with this version. It just doesn't feel like it used to. It feels watered down.
Hopefully Square Enix will address some of these points. Until then, use your best judgment when deciding whether to purchase this.
The game itself is great but...
Dont be fooled by the "optimized" graphics for iOS, the only optimization is in the user interface and the controls are seriously wonky, at best. It's more suited for a point and click style play on the iPhone and iPod. If im paying $10 for an app/old game I expect top quality and not just an "optimized port." I get better content filled games at a $1. Until they add true retina display graphics and more control options, save your money. I was suckered based on the games name alone, don't follow in my footsteps, wait or just buy it on another platform.
I'll update my review once they fix these issues.
Good game but why is the file so huge?
People have looked into this game file and found like 50megs are the game and the 500+ megs of the rest are made up of Apple Lossless Audio files. Why didn't they compress any of the sound? This game shouldn't be this huge considering it is an SNES game.
