Minecraft PC exceeds 7 million sales

The PC version of Minecraft has reached seven million sales, according to Mojang, meaning it shifted one million copies since May.

“More than 7 million Minecraft (PC) copies sold,” Mojang’s Daniel Kaplan revealed on Twitter, before adding: “Thank you all Minecrafters around the world showing such dedication and support.”

Last month, Mojang claimed that the XBLA version of the game had sold three million copies, and today console version developer 4J Studios revealed that it is working on a major update for the game, but it will be some time before it surfaces.

“We’re working on the 1.8.2 update, and deciding what to bring forward from 1.9 and beyond,” 4J Studios tweeted. “Many weeks of work to do yet, so not out soon.”
