How do I contact a "live" person for registration help and information?
Please contact the GDC Europe Registration Department at +1 (415) 947-6856 or +1 (866) 321-1807. The Registration Department is open
Monday - Friday from 9am to 4pm PT USA, excluding holidays.
What is the cost of admission?
What is the Valued Added Tax (VAT)?
VAT is a consumption tax levied on goods and services in many countries around the world. The national tax systems of Europe, Canada, Japan and Australia allow for a refund of VAT to most non-resident business entities, worldwide. In some instances, registration for VAT is required by the local country law in order to get a refund. Registration must be done prior to the business event.
Included in your registration fees is a 19% Value Added Tax (VAT). EU and non-EU companies may be eligible to apply for VAT reimbursement which was applied to your registration fee. Please consult with your country's tax advisor for assistance in claiming your refund.

When can I register to attend the Game Developers Conference™ Europe?
I've just registered online, when will I receive my receipt and confirmation?
If you registered and paid online, the final page of the registration process is your receipt and confirmation. Please make certain to make a copy of your receipt for expense purposes as well as any follow-up with the GDC Registration Department. If you printed an invoice and submitted it with your check payment, we will mail you a confirmation and receipt, once your registration is received and processed. Online registration without payment does NOT secure the Early registration discount. If you selected payment by check, please be aware that all check payments must be received by the Registration Department no later than Friday, August 6, 2012 in order to apply the payment to your registration. If you are unable to meet this deadline, please pay by credit card by accessing your registration as a returning user and follow the prompts to pay with a credit card.
Why do I have to create a unique log in and password for my registration?
For your privacy and protection we require anyone registering online to create a unique login for access to their registration. Having a login allows you online access to your receipt, pass selection and information about your registration. This is only available through online registration. Please contact the
Registration Department if you have questions after online registration is closed.
How do I register a Group?
To take advantage of our group discount, your group must consist of 6 or more attendees from the same company and they must be registered at the same time. Additional registrations from the same company added at a later date will not be entitled to the group discount unless they are submitted under the same terms & conditions described here:
Terms and conditions: The group discount of 10% is only valid off the current registration price, including early discount registrations for All Access Pass, Main Conference Pass, and Summits & Tutorials Pass. No other passes are entitled to the 10% discount. Additional discounts, such as Alumni, Exhibitor or other special discounts are not combinable with the group discount.

When do I receive my badge?
Event badges are will no longer be mailed out. Please be sure to print out your confirmation and bring it with you to the conference with a picture ID.
I've registered for GDC Europe and now need to make changes to my registration, how can I do this?
If you need to cancel your conference registration, you may do so for a full refund, less a EUR150 plus a 19% VAT service charge until
Monday, July 16, 2012. Attendees who register prior to or after the deadline date, and who do not cancel in writing by the deadline date, are liable for the pass cost and will be charged for the full registration fee. Sorry, no refunds are available for no-shows. If you are unable to attend the event, we recommend that you send a substitution in your place.

Written requests for a downgraded pass must be received no later than
Monday, July 16, 2012 for a full refund on the difference of registration fees between the value of the original and downgraded pass. Requests received after
Monday, July 16, 2012 will not be accommodated. Upgrade pass requests must be submitted in writing and faxed to (415) 947-6011 along with payment information for the difference in value.

Can I bring my child to GDC Europe?
There will not be any on-site child care services at the Congress-Centrum Ost Koelnmesse. And due to safety concerns, no one under the age of 18 (including infants in strollers) will be permitted on the show floor at any time during the conference.
Why can't I see the registration page on this site?
The registration portion of this site serves encrypted pages, and will not display on browsers with security settings set too low.
• In Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced, scroll to the bottom of the list, and make sure SSL 2.0 or 3.0 is enabled.
• In Netscape/Mozilla, go to Communicator > Tools > Security Info > Navigator, and make sure SSL 2.0 or 3.0 is enabled.
