SAP Basis Principle Consultant

The Role:
Our client a global SAP Consultancy with a huge presence in Australia have an immediate requirement for a principal SAP Basis consultant to join their large Sydney team. The principle Consultant should be able to demonstrate the following:

• Provide SAP Technology expertise across a broad spectrum of system landscapes, this to encompass the design and sizing of solutions, through to build, handover and ongoing support activities.
• Maintain the good name of our client with existing customers, and to establish new clients, by delivering a quality service.

Key Skills and Experience Required:

• Minimum 7 years SAP Basis experience
• Must have completed at least 2 upgrade projects as the lead. Ie. Change of SAP Product version
• Must have completed at least 3 implementation projects as the lead. Eg. Support Pack install, EHP install.
• Must be experienced in both ABAP and JAVA. Must be able to demonstrate this.
• Must have worked on at least 2 database platforms
• Must have worked on both Unix and Windows platforms.
• Must understand SAP Architecture and how changes and projects impact the SAP System Landscape.
• Understands the importance of release planning.
• Ability to manage technical project streams.

Certification:
SAP Technical Consultant Certification (preferred)
OS/DB Migration experience (preferred)

Documentation Skills:
Must have excellent documentation skills.
Candidate will be required to produce examples as part of interview.

Mentor / Management Skills:
Must be able to review other team members work and provide feedback.
Candidate to demonstrate the ability to work in a team and provide leadership.
Must be able to develop and implement Best Practices.
Ensures the team understands and works in accordance with Best Practices.
Provides feedback to the customer on Best Practice and ensures Best practices are enforced for all deliverables.
Effectively communicates and co-ordinates tasks with on and off shore team members.
Desirable - Managing offshore resources

Presales:
Candidate must be able to estimate the Technical effort required for a Basis related activity eg. Installation, upgrade, EHP install.
Candidate can architect a solution eg. Size a solution for a particular platform
Candidate can demonstrate some pre-sales work that they have completed. Eg. Responses to tenders etc.
Candidate is familiar with server and storage hardware
