Halo 4 Limited Edition includes skill-boosting DLC, War Games Pass announced

Six Specialisations available early to LE buyers

Microsoft has supplied more details on Halo 4's Limited Edition, which includes early access to multiplayer Specialisations plus Halo 4 DLC maps. It's also announced the Halo 4 War Games Map Pass, which grants access to nine additional Halo 4 maps, some available after launch.

The latter costs 2000 MP, 15 per cent off what you'd pay if you bought all the maps one by one. Need an extra incentive? You'll nab Spartan-IV "Scanner" and "Strider" helmets along with the "Falcon" in-game emblem when you invest. The Map Pass launches alongside the game itself on 6th November.

  1. Dammit, and they were doing so well. Hell, even pre-ordering COD didn't offer this big an advantage/

To be fair you have to get to level 50 before you can even begin to unlock the specialisations, which then each take another extra 10 levels to unlock. The unknown quantity is how many hours it takes to level up.

Personally for me I can't justify spending that much on this game. Halo has and always will be about the Single player campaign for me therefore this really isn't worth spending the extra on. With all this focus on the MP that I keep hearing about, I am even now doubting whether or not to actually buy this at all. The only Halo game I haven't bought is Halo Wars (I haven't got Anniversary yet either but that is basically the same as the first Halo anyway) It is unlikely to be a day 1 purchase for me and will very much depend on the campaign as to when or if I do get this at all.

  5. Wait so the War Games pass doesn't mean you get the DLCs? Its just a discount on them?

Or am I wrong because I'm a little confused.

  6. I have bought this on the Tesco website. I used the code T15OFF25 which takes 15% off the purchase price and so I got the Collector's Edition for £52.08 which is probably cheaper than buying the Standard edition plus the online pass.

You don't usually need to buy an online pass if you buy the game new! However that does sound like a reasonable price considering its retail value

Depends on which CoD and version - I pre-ordered the Hardened edition of MW3 for example and although I didn't get that much (a juggernaut avatar item, postcards and walkthrough of the first mission) It also gave me an Elite subscription (which was extended by 1 month due to problems with Elite) and ALL DLC for the whole year meaning that I didn't have to spend any extra to get everything for the game.

I don't know if you will need to spend extra with this if you want all the extra content that will be available - if not this could be a good deal but you may end up spending more than I did on CoD otherwise.

To you it may be worth it if you get your moneys worth in terms of entertainment hours etc...

Yes, you're right, what I meant was if it will also include all the future map releases. My bad!

  9. Can't decide if it's worth it... if I could get some money off I'd consider it, if it was saving me money on the future maps that I'd get anyway.
