Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor screenshots and trailer

Capcom Kinect heavyweight stomps back into view

Mechanauts, please start your engines. We finally have new footage and screenshots of Capcom's Kinect exclusive Steel Battallion: Heavy Armor.

Set in 2082, and crafted by Dark Souls developer From Software, the new Steel Battallion is the third in the series. Where the first game on Xbox required a dedicated pad, boasting a whopping 42 buttons, the new one doesn't need buttons at all.

A couple of things occur to us at this point. First off, talk about heavy. Secondly, that first-person cockpit view seems a little restrictive. We like the idea of having chatty crewmates to your right and left, though. What's your take on the matter?

  1. Nothing kills more excitement for a game than seeing the From Software logo appear at the beginning of the trailer.

  2. Not an Armoured Core fan, then? ;)

  3. did it say the UN, the UN!, were invadeing america? there are some paranoid yanks down south who think the UN is evil but come on!

  4. Can you name a country that has invaded more non hostile countries in the last 50 years then the US? Or has more WMDs? Seems like a perfect target for the UN to me

I'm still hoping this game is a hybrid control scheme. I've said since it was first announced I'd like to see movement and basic firing done with a controller and an interactive HUD for heavier weapons. Looks like they heard half my plea, so how about the other bit?

  5. i just rememberd something, this remindes me of a Judge Dredd story when a plastic eating bacteria from outer space caused havoc in mega city 1

Your love of Ol' Stoney Face never ceases to make me smile.

It's also the plot of Michael "Jurassic Park" Crichton's first book Andromeda Strain.
