Nutritious & Delicious Kid Friendly Foods!

Politics aside, there's one thing we can all agree on: raising healthy kids. First Lady Michelle Obama has made it her mission to combat the American obesity epidemic with her "Let's Move" campaign, and since school is in full swing, it's a great time to reevaluate what you're feeding your children.

Remember - filling your kids up on seemingly cheap, processed junk will ending up costing them a lot - both physically and mentally. The good news is, it doesn't take a lot of time or money to whip up these quick, creative and affordable Fab & Fru lunchbox favorites!

      Oh La Leftovers

Chicken has always been a quick go-to when it comes to dinner, but if your kid has had their fill of the typical ham and cheese, take their sandwich to the next level with a BBQ chicken surprise! Cut up the leftover chicken, toss or

WARNING: this is an opinion piece. I will try to present facts, but I'm not an unbiased news source.

Oh boy. Whether you are rooting for the guy who got Clint Eastwood to babble to an empty chair (Mitt Romney), or the guy who is tap dancing as fast as he can in the White House to the "be patient. hope is on the way" song (President Barack Obama), you know this is a critical crossroad in our country's history. The ideologies of the two main political parties have gotten so strange that by 50-year-old standards Obama would be considered conservative and Romney wouldn't be taken seriously at all.

I was always a Hillary gal, but in 2008, I rallied behind the man of hope and was surprisingly inspired when he indeed took office. The country was hitting some harsh realities and the mere whiff of hope and change created a magical sense that we could suck it up and go through our growing pains and band together to become a stronger nation again. Lots of air

Voting Women, Do You Have Valid ID?

Moms, are your driver's licenses up to date? If not, and you're planning on voting in this November's election, you'd better fix that or attempts to push through tougher voter ID laws around the country could prevent you from casting your ballot.

There have been plenty of news stories this election season about efforts to prevent voter fraud - it seems that certain political operatives are worried that dead people or felons or undocumented immigrants might try to trick their way in to polling places in November. But there's another group of very active voters who could get turned away from the polls if stricter voter identification laws are upheld - American mothers.

Related: Do you vote with your kids in mind?

Wonder how that could possibly happen?

The most common "state-issued photo ID" is a driver's license. If you get asked for ID at the voting booth, while there are a few other options, your driver's license is really what those in favor of these laws are talking about. Af

    • On NBC's "Meet the Press," The New York Times' David Brooks shared a historical perspective that puts Mitt Romney in a unique position. The candidate's unfavorable ratings are 50%, causing Brooks to pronounce Romney: "the least popular candidate in history."

David Gregory, host of the show, attempted to define Romney's personal brand:

"Personally, I think he is a kind, decent man who says stupid things because he's pretending to be something he's not, some sort of cartoonish government hater."

That is perhaps the most generous, if incomprehensible, perspective one could have formed to explain Romney's personal brand. If Gregory is correct, Romney engineered an inauthentic persona. He chose:

Stupidity. Pretense. Hate. To hide his kindness and decency.

In fact, if you look at both his off the record and on the record appearances, Romney's authentic personal brand has nearly 50 shades of hate. His personal brand consistently communicates sentiments that refl

    • If only he paid me for this...

It's long been said that hiring a person (or people) to cook, clean, nanny/teach a kid to read, pay household bills, shop and have sex would cost a pretty penny. And seemingly, only super villains and Brangelinas have the kind of foresight and cash to hire those several people. However, dear friends, a house spouse (let us not give husbands who work from the home short thrift) does all of these jobs and is NOT on anyone's payroll.

That may change soon on the opposite side of Earth, as an Indian governmental department (the Union Women and Child Development Ministry) is drafting legislation that would make it mandatory for a husband to dole out a fixed percentage of his salary to his wife to compensate her for her homemaking efforts. Indeed, the position of wife, mother and housekeeper will henceforth be referred to as a "home engineer" and could earn her something to the tune of 10-20 percent of the husband's check.
