    • Mitt and Ann Romney watch from ringside as Manny Pacquiao is knocked out in Las Vegas. (HBO/Twitter)

A month after losing the 2012 presidential election, Mitt Romney and his wife, Ann, were ringside in Las Vegas on Saturday night to watch as Manny Pacquiao was knocked out by Juan Manuel Marquez in the sixth round of their welterweight bout.

The image of the former Massachusetts governor, his mouth agape at the sight of Pacquiao face down on the canvas, was seen briefly on the HBO telecast and posted to Twitter by Buzzfeed's Andrew Kaczynski.

According to the Associated Press, the Romneys were guests of Nevada State Athletic Commission chairman Bill Brady, who hosted a fundraiser for the Republican nominee during the campaign.

Before the fight, Romney met Pacquiao in the fighter's dressing room at the MGM Grand, according to the New York Times, which described the "surreal" exchange:

In came Mitt Romney. Yes, that Mitt Romney, the former Massachusetts governor and the presidential runner-up, every hair on his head in place. Romney, in fact, came in twice. His introduction was at once awkward and hilarious.

"Hi, Manny," he said. "I'm Mitt Romney. I ran for president. I lost."

      Pacquiao then followed suit.

"I got hit by a punch I didn't see," he said.

    • "Saturday Night Live" dedicated its cold-opening this week to the ongoing fiscal cliff negotiations--and to announce an unlikely deal between Democrats and Republicans had been reached.

"We'd like to announce we have reached an agreement to avoid the fiscal cliff," Jay Pharaoh, reprising his role as President Obama, said during the faux joint press conference with House Speaker John Boehner, played by Bill Hader. "In order to get the support of the speaker, I agreed there would be no tax increases."

"Now why would I do that?" Pharoah's Obama continued. "I mean I won the election. I had the leverage. Why give in? Simply put, I felt sorry for this man."

Fellow Republicans, President Obama explained, took Boehner's milk in the Congressional cafeteria and threw it in the garbage, put a rubber snake in his desk and pushed him into the ladies room "naked from the waist down."

"This is a United States congressman, one that I find extremely conservative and hard to deal with," the president said. "Yet at no point have I ever considered putting a rubber snake in his desk."

As it goes with virtually everything else he does, the moment President Barack Obama fielded the phone call from Mitt Romney on election night conceding the 2012 race was photographed and documented for history by the White House. And now it's on Flickr.

The image, taken by White House photographer Pete Souza, shows President Obama leaning against a chair in the Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park Hotel's aptly-named Presidential Suite on Nov. 6, presumably listening to the former Massachusetts governor. The White House uploaded the digital photo along with several others (flying with former President Bill Clinton and campaign staffers on Air Force One, leading a briefing on the response to Hurricane Sandy, kissing a baby on the tarmac) to the Yahoo-owned photo-sharing site last week.

On Thursday, President Obama and Romney met for lunch at the White House, their first face-to-face meeting since the bitter election campaign.

The White House barred reporters from the event, but released the official photo--also shot by Souza--showing Obama giving Romney a tour of the Oval Office.

    • Secretary of State Hillary Clinton speaks during a news conference at Stormont Castle in Belfast December 7, 2012. (Kevin Lamarque/Reuters)Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will testify publicly to Congress on the findings of the State Department's investigation into the deadly Sept. 11 attack on the American compound in Benghazi, Libya, a top lawmaker said Friday.

Republican Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, who chairs the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said Clinton had agreed to come before her panel to discuss a probe into the attack by the State Department's accountability review board (ARB). The congresswoman did not specify a date.

"As we anticipate the release of the ARB report, I look forward to discussing with the Secretary what corrective measures has the Department undertaken to address problems identified in the months following the Benghazi attack, including security of our posts, threat assessments, host government responsibilities, and coordination with other U.S. security agencies," the lawmaker said in a statement.

Ros-Lehtinen's office said the ARB report was expected next week and that Clinton "will be testifying soon thereafter" to her committee and to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

    • New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie walks to a meeting on Capitol Hill in Washington on Thursday. (J. Scott Applewhite/AP)President Barack Obama formally asked Congress Friday for $60.4 billion to help states such as New Jersey and New York rebuild in the aftermath of devastating Superstorm Sandy.

"Our Nation has an obligation to assist those who suffered losses and who lack adequate resources to rebuild their lives," acting Office of Management and Budget Director Jeffrey Zients said in a letter to Republican House Speaker John Boehner and Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

"Although estimates of the total damage of Hurricane Sandy remain in flux, current projections are that Sandy is on track to be the second or third most costly natural disaster in U.S. history, behind Hurricane Katrina (2005) and close to Hurricane Andrew (1992)," Zients wrote.

The emergency spending aid request "includes efforts to repair damage to homes and public infrastructure and to help affected communities prepare for future storms," he said.

The news came a day after New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie met with Obama and top aides behind closed doors at the White House and then canvassed Capitol Hill.

Christie and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo released a joint statement praising the bill, saying it would help the region "to recover, repair and rebuild better and stronger than before" and would offer states "maximum flexibility" in how to use the funds.

RIM’s ‘really cool’ BlackBerry 10 SDKs go gold

It’s been an agonizing wait for RIM (RIMM) fans, but the launch of BlackBerry 10 is getting tantalizingly close to becoming a reality. RIM announced on its developer support page today that all the software development kits for its upcoming BlackBerry 10 operating system have gone gold and are available for developers interested in creating apps for the new platform. RIM has BlackBerry 10 SDKs available in several different programming languages, including C/C++,  HTML5, ActionScript and Java. The Java SDK is particularly interesting because it’s been built specifically to “port existing Android apps and games to Playbook and BlackBerry 10.” RIM executives started touting their new SDKs this past fall when they released a music video that described them as
