DayZ, the zombie survival mod for Arma II, will now be developed as a standalone game by Bohemia Interactive.
The mod, which has been available for a number of months now, has already amassed over 600,000 players and will continue to be developed in parallel with the game.
Further details will follow on the game's official site over the coming weeks, but the mod's creator Dean 'Rocket' Hall has confirmed that he will be the project lead and that it will follow the "Minecraft development model" with a rapidly iterated public alpha available for a discounted price ahead of the full release.
