It's freakishly funny, suddenly tender, gleefully macabre, genuinely scary, and full of a moral – fear turns weak people into bullies – which is dosed out so gently that it never tastes like medicine.

ParaNorman is a micro-sized masterpiece that wears its heart (and its half-eaten brains) on its sleeve.

ParaNorman is supposedly for kids, but it's really aimed at their snarky older brothers, and it illustrates the limits of the new family creepshows.

  1. Simply an amazing movie. It's like a Tim Burton movie, but it isn't. The art style is just fantastic and innocent, and the message of the movie is even better! This is probably my favorite film now, no joke. ParaNorman focuses a lot on tolerance and the movie never bored me: the visual effects were so great and so was the voice acting! It was definitely entertaining start to finish -- although it did start off weird, it quickly got to the point and surprised me!! I loved the characters and just the movie itself! DEFINITELY a must see, whatever age!!! Expand

  3. Hollywood has done it again. They have figured out a way to work in the gay agenda by invading the so-called kid animation arena. I have nothing against gays but don't put references to it in this type of movie. I took my 13 and 10 year old hoping to at least find a movie that we could all sit down to and enjoy, well that wasn't the case. The movie was somewhat entertaining and a good time waste until the end scene. My only question for the directors is WHY IN THE HELL do you have to work in a gay references in a kid movie, are you kidding me?????. STOP IT. Do what you want in adult animation, adult movies etc but there was no place for that scene in the movie. RIDICULOUS. Don't push this down kids throat and having me as a parent be forced to fricking explain it when that's not what I came to the movies for. You guys blew it BIGTIME. Just so you know the theater I was in had many families with kids and the parents that were looking around weren't laughing so I don't think my disappointment is over rated. Be responsible for goodness sake. The directors should know better as well as universal. Parents take heed. Expand
