Dwell

My dwelling shall be with them; I will be their God, and they shall be my people. – Ez. 37:27
If you could sit down and have a dinner conversation with any one person in history who would it be? I believe the most common answer is Jesus Christ. Why? Because not only is He the most influential man in history, He is God. God – who dwelt among His people for 33 years. Men witnessed Jesus healing the blind and lame. They saw him turn the water into wine. Demons were cast out by Him. He brought the dead back to life. He, himself, died and rose from the dead. This is unfathomable! Could it get any better than this?
Yes! Jesus, God Himself, is dwelling among us today! Where does He dwell? He is in those around you. He is the hungry, thirsty, imprisoned, naked, and the stranger you pass by. He told us that whatever we do to the least of our brethren, we do it to Him. He is in those you love and those who hurt you. He comes among us in the priest when we seek reconciliation and actually forgives us of our sins when we hear those words “I absolve you from your sins.” He is fully physically present Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity in the Holy Eucharist at Mass after the priest says the words of consecration. He dwells intimately within us when we receive Him in the Eucharist and we become living tabernacles.
God is dwelling among us! How will you seek Him out? How will you treat Him? How will you receive Him? Prepare a dwelling place for Him because He desires to dwell with you.
