Left 4 Dead 2 Cold Stream DLC hits Xbox Live

Custom campaign pack lands after troubled launch

We're hearing reports that Left 4 Dead 2's long-awaited Cold Stream pack is now visible on the game's DLC menu, though not on Xbox Live Marketplace itself.

"Visible" doesn't appear to mean "downloadable", however, not yet. OXM reader CunningSmile offers a possible explanation: "Basically they upload it in a number of stages and you've tried to download it after the Dashboard has been updated but before the stuff is actually there to buy. As I said try it again later, after 2 o'clock normally works for me but I've experienced later times."

The L4D Twitter account notes that Cold Stream's launch "may vary [depending on] where you are located", but should be available now in Washington, Bellevue time.

We'll be back with an Xbox.com link as and when it surfaces. While you wait, here's a round-up of custom campaigns created for the PC version of Left 4 Dead that we sorely want on console.

Update: Bezza says it's now downloadable from the game's main menu. Also, it's currently free. You might want to stake your claim sooner rather than later...

Update 2: OXM Twitter followers say their downloads are sticking fast at 99%.

Update 3: Morning all! In case you missed it, Cold Stream is now available to download for 560 MP. See you in the Safe House.

  1. Microsoft, you guys just want money, your hard workers, when it comes to money, but when it dosen't come to money this stuff happens.

  2. Go community!

If this doesn't drop soon I'm getting BF3 premium.

Edit: Not looking good is it? Sods law dictates that the second after I purchase BF3 Premium the dlc will be available.

This is ridiculous from valve, I mentioned it the other day, having dlc released after a period of time (in this case 18 months since announcement) is fine, but when you give a date that's it. It's poor form to cease communication until the final moments of said release dates and then delay it due to unforseen circumstances. It's a good job we can all forgive valve for making up for it in the bedroom... that is game wise

It isnt Vavle's fault, its Microsofts they don't how to place dlc's and what not on there own console

  4. I've not said it's their fault, a little communication would be nice, as it is it's poor form. I mean saying MS don't know how to use their own marketplace is a bit silly, but even a little 'We've contacted MS' would be nice.

  5. Hey everyone, it's on the main menu now - and it's free. Might be an error, get in quick!

  7. Yeah but if the item says purchased, surely we just check our download history and click redownload without having to pay? lol I'm such a cheapskate! It's only £5 I hear you say, that's two beers I retort.
