Camion Patrick, a Tennessee football commitment, will not play his senior season at Lenoir City High School.
No reason was given by Lenoir City coach Mike Zeller on Thursday night.
“About the only thing I can tell you is: he will not be playing with Lenoir City,” said Zeller.
Patrick, who committed to UT in late January, did not reply Thursday to a text message seeking comment.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound receiver played an integral part in Lenoir City making a run to the Class 5A state quarterfinals in 2011, amassing more than 1,000 all-purpose yards during his junior season.
Patrick starred at Clinton High School during the 2009-10 seasons before transferring to Lenoir City.

Hope this doesn't transfer over to Tennessee and become a problem.

Smells like trouble. Two schools already and kicked off before his senior season? No thanks - commit somewhere else.

As long as he plays for Tennessee, I don't care where he plays pee wee ball.

His guardian was hired as a coach at LCHS last year, which is why Camion played at Lenoir City to begin with. Guardian no longer has a position with Lenoir City schools for the upcoming season/year.

Suprised KNS did not report this, but we all know the quality of their reporting.

I think Tennessee should take back his scholarship if he refuses to play.

You are an unbelievable joke.
You soon will begin to realize how long life will be. Before long the gravity of the term of your miserable existence will begin to escape your subconscious, and become your reality.

I can't believe a Senior would not be playing fb his last year of HS?? I guess he's saving himself to be in good condition riding the pine at UT..

Isn't it fun how we just start using our imaginations to fill in the blanks when we don't have any facts about a situation? I just love it. It gives us all a chance to know what it feels like to be a troll on GVX.

Rumor has it on several other forums that he didn't pass enough classes in the Spring/Summer to be eligible to play this Fall. He's apparently got a lot of work to do if he's going to become eligible to play for us next year. He might be headed to the JUCO ranks.

Yeah, what he said....I think! lol

That sounds like he COULD play for another school. Anyone know what options are actually open for him? Do ya think TSSAA might have some guidelines?
(Or maybe Camion was inspired by Jarnell Stokes' success...)

His high school coach could have done a better job addressing this issue. It is his grades..

His guardian took a coaching job at Oak Ridge for this coming season. Maybe he could be transferring there.
10seVol85_Part_Deux writes:
That transfer is another rumor circulating. I would think, though, if he didn't pass enough classes to be eligible (TSSAA), then he wouldn't be eligible at Oak Ridge either.

Watch out he'll have Lil Lane and rED bull Orangutan coming to recruit him again.
Tippet writes:
Unless he moved back in w/ him he won't be going. As of last spring the guardian no longer had legal custody and he was floating between his girlfriends house and other places. This is a good kid that has been pimped out by his guardian to advance his coaching positions, and it has hurt the kid academically. This kid needs structure and he will be fine.

Sounds like an opening for another recruit that has it together. The Vols need to focus on recruits that can make the grade and appreciate the opportunity.

I will agree with you. Two different High Schools in two years and kicked off his senior year spells trouble. Send him to Southern Cal.

That may have been too harsh.I apologize. Should have read the coments before posting.
