Research firm Canalys just released its quarterly estimates on global PC shipments for Q2, and the news isn't looking great for Dell and HP. The new data shows that HP and Dell saw shipments decline 11.3 percent and 10.9 percent year-over-year, respectively. Maingear Pulse 11 and Origin EON11-S review

Pulse Eon Lead

PC gamers looking for a platform that will travel with them have plenty of options — recent nods go to the Samsung Gamer 7 and the Alienware M17x — but one can hardly call laptops that start at over nine pounds “portable.” Let’s take a look at something a bit smaller, from two well known boutique PC vendors: the 3.7 pound, 11.6-inch Maingear Pulse 11 and Origin EON11-S.

Microsoft is putting a lot behind its new Metro-style Outlook.com email service, and with it comes a new chance to claim an email address that could actually be your real name, a proper noun, a proper word, or at least something devoid of random numbers tacked on to the end of it. (And to be clear, first.last@outlook.com is different than firstlast@outlook.com — plan accordingly.)

If you have a Hotmail account, that doesn't give you an...
