Hardcore Computer Changes Name to LiquidCool, Tweaks Market Strategy
ROCHESTER, Minn., July 23 -- In a move to exploit its total liquid submersion patent portfolio, Hardcore Computer, Inc., announced today their new corporate name, LiquidCool Solutions. LiquidCool -- arising from its flagship technologies -- reflects the company's new strategic vision of integrating and licensing its liquid cool submersion technologies for high-growth applications.
Addressing the needs of technology groups such as enterprise IT and telecommunications products, LiquidCool will leverage its expertise in outsourced and collaborative research and development to solve heat transfer problems in or related to electronic devices. LiquidCool's lauded award winning total liquid submersion technologies have a strong history of providing unmatched performance computing gains that enable over-clock CPUs to run faster, cooler and longer than traditional fan-cooled systems.
The key advantage of LiquidCool's patented liquid cooling technology is the use of its dielectric fluid for plug and play solutions that deliver precise intelligent and direct cooling suitable for mass-market applications. The market for LiquidCool's direct cooling for computing systems has grown significantly in recent years, particularly in the server and data center markets. NASA Builds Supercomputing Lab for Earth Scientists
This week, NASA announced it would soon be launching a new HPC and data facility that will give Earth scientists access to four decades of satellite imagery and other datasets. Known as the NASA Earth Exchange (NEX), the facility is being promoted as a “virtual laboratory” for researchers interested in applying supercomputing resources to studying areas like climate change, soil and vegetation patterns, and other environmental topics.

Mellanox Roars Through Second Quarter As InfiniBand Revenue Takes Off
With the rollout of high performance, lossless Ethernet products over the last few years, there were more than a few analysts predicting the slow retreat of InfiniBand. But thanks to a peculiar confluence of technology roadmaps, a payoff in some investments made by Mellanox, and a pent-up demand for server and storage deployment now being alleviated by Intel's Romley platform, InfiniBand is having a big year.
