Skyrim update 1.7 smashes Dawnguard bugs, improves Kinect voice control

Have at ye, technical errors!

Bethesda's doing another one of those high-falutin' Skyrim patches, out for Xbox 360 in the near-future. It appears to roll in certain tweaks specific to already-released updates for other regions, and is, on the whole, terribly unexciting.

Here's the full changelog anyway. How are those dragons behaving round your way? Ours seem fine, though I did see one sit on a bear the other day. Don't worry, the bear had it coming. All bears have it coming.

Update 1.7 (all platforms unless specified)

BUG FIXES

General memory and stability optimizations

Fixed crash related to new water shaders

Fixed rare crash related to dragon landings

Fixed logic error with loading screens from add-ons (Xbox 360)

Using vampiric grip and swimming no longer prevents swimming animation from playing afterwards

Improved recognition with Kinect voice commands (Xbox 360)

Kinect-enabled dragon language shouts for French, German, Italian and Spanish work properly (Xbox 360)

Fixed issue with Dawnguard Kinect-enabled dragon shouts for French, German, Italian and Spanish (Xbox 360)

  1. The Kyne's Peace shout is good for taming bears while your magicka recharges, so you can fireball them in the arse before they can turn around.

Also anyone having crashes in Skyrim would do well to clear the game cache by holding LB+RB+X on starting the game from the dashboard until the Bethesda logo appears.

  2. Does dawnguard work on multiple characters as i have made a vampire lord character but i also want to make a dawnguard character, is it possible because the guards in whiterun don't say anything about the dawnguard which normally activates the quest? :?:

You have to be at least level 10 before they mention it, I think.

  4. In any single game, you can only be one or the other.

You cannot be a member of the dawnguard and then a vampire lord in the same game!!

  5. I'm actually glad for this. Have Kinect and the voice recognition for the shouts is plop, hopefully this will improve it considerably.

  9. The kinect feature is rubbish in it's current implementation.

I'm unable to play with it enabled and have anyone else in the room (like my partner or children) as it's constantly quicksaving, fireballing people etc. The silly thing is when I'm actually wanting it to do something it doesn't seem to work for me.

It's a shame as it's handy to use (when I can get it working)

yarp. I find that it works well when using English words, quick save and hotkey and all that jazz, and when speaking the English translation of the shouts, it works as well, but the dragon language doesn't pick up well at all.
