Good To Be Home

The ASA Chesapeake Charge are back home for two games this weekend June 16th and 17th. Starting off on Saturday @ 2pm at Old MIll High School in Millersville, MD they will take on former WPS club WNY Flash. Sunday they will take on powerhouse NY Fury @ 4pm back at Old MIll High School.

About the Team:     The ASA Chesapeake Charge is the Maryland bay area member of the Women's Premier Soccer League's Elite league, preparing for our season in 2012.  We are committed to bringing top quality women's soccer to the area and to provide quality family entertainment to our supporters.  Our goal is to also enable real progression for players from youth to senior teams, and for full involvement in the community at large.

About the Coaching:

Albert Oni:  Head Coach Albert Oni is a native of Silver Spring Maryland where he grew up playing club soccer for the Wheaton Wolves and Columbia City United NCSL Soccer teams (1987 national champions) and the Maryland ODP. He attended Montgomery Blair HS, where he received honorable mention all-state honors, and Springbrook HS where he was a three time All state selection. Albert then attended Essex Community College (1989 National Finalists) and transferred to UMBC.  After college, he joined the Washington Warthogs and after several injuries, Albert completed his playing careeer with the Baltimore Spirit, also known as the Baltimore Blast, where he was coached by Mike Stankovic. Coach Oni also has coached several youth club soccer teams, is Head Coach of the Mercy HS Girls varsity team, runs the Oni Premier Soccer Academy, and was named the 2009 Girls Soccer Coach of the Year by the Baltimore Sun.

Drew Hoffman: Assistant Coach Drew Hoffman is the Head Coach of the Washington College men's soccer team since 2006. Coach Hoffman also previously served as the top assistant coach on the men's soccer staff at the US Military Academy from 2000 to 2006, and as West Chester College assistant men's coach and as the West Chester women's coach in 1999.  Drew graduated from West Chester in 1997 with a BA in Social Work, and earned his MS in Educational Counselling and College Student Development from C.W. Post in 2002.  As a player at West Chester, Drew had an outstanding four-year career and helped lead the Golden Rams to a school-record 14 wins in 1994 and the ECAC Semifinals.  Coach Hoffman current holds the National "A" license and a Premier Diploma from the NSCAA.

Daniel Bulls: Assistant Coach Daniel Bulls a local product who played his high school ball at Old Mill High School and also played for the University of MD, Balitmore County (UMBC) from 2005-2008 where he had a very successful career. Dan has played professional for Real Maryland Monarchs of the USL in 2009 and most recently in 2010 for Bmobile Joe Public of the T.T Pro League where he finsihes 2nd and qulified for the CONCACAF champions league. Dan has coached locally and we look forward to his youth and knowledge.

Type of Players: Selected high school , college, post-college, former professional and international players

University of Maryland, Towson State, Salisbury State, UMBC, Notre Dame, Loyola, Johns Hopkins, Anne Arundel Community College, Caitonsville Community College, Bowie State.
