21:54 That's all she wrote for tonight, folks. Less than 24 hours until the opening ceremony. It should be magical.

21:52 Full time: Great Britain 1-1 Senegal. Frustration for Stuart Pearce's side as they take the lead through Craig Bellamy, only to see Moussa Konate equalise with eight minutes left. GB should have had a penalty and Senegal put in some feisty tackles, but it's a deserved point for them. A win against UAE is a must.

21:47 GB v Senegal: What a miss from Marvin Sordell. Excellent work down the left hand side from Aaron Ramsey sees him tee up Sordell, unmarked, eight yards out at the centre of the goal, but his shot cannons off the crossbar. He went for power and height and it was the wrong decision. Down the other end, Senegal miss a free header. Exciting end to the game.

21:43 GB v Senegal: Although Britain should have had a penalty, you cannot deny Senegal deserve that. They have looked dangerous throughout; Pearce's defence caught woefully flat.

21:40 GOAL FOR SENEGAL!! TEAM GB 1-1 SENEGAL!! Moussa Konate latches on to a brilliant through ball from the right-hand side and waits for Butland to commit to ground before placing it beyond him into the bottom corner. That's changed the atmosphere - GB have seven minutes to grab a winner.

21:38 Brazil have held on in their men's football match with Egypt to win 3-2. In the same group, Belarus hang on to record a 1-0 win over New Zealand.

21:37 GB v Senegal: Standing ovation from Old Trafford as Craig Bellamy is replaced Jack Cork of Southampton. How noble of the crowd; next time, try not to boo him in the first place. Still 1-0 to Team GB with 10 minutes plus stoppage time remaining.

21:36 Despite being a former 100m world record holder, Asafa Powell is the forgotten man of Jamaican sprinting. But the 29-year-old is still ready for an Olympics to remember in what will probably be his last.

I'm pumped up for these Games. I'm not getting any younger. It's probably my last one.

Everyone is excited. Jamaica is excited, all the athletes. There's a lot of attention on Jamaica right now and everyone is pushing for the Olympics.

21:30 GB v Senegal: Great Britain should have a penalty, but more worryingly, Craig Bellamy looks in trouble. Giggs plays Bellamy in down the right and he's clattered inside the box by Saliou Ciss. It could have been out of the box but not even a foul given. Poor refereeing, horrendous challenge. Not nasty, just stupid and clumsy.

21:22 After being 3-0 up at half-time, Brazil have switched off in the second half of their men's football game with Egypt - it's 3-2 now, thanks to a goal from Mohamed Salah. The comeback is well and truly on.

21:20 GB v Senegal: Joe Allen cannot continue, so fellow Welshman Aaron Ramsey replaces him. Still 1-0 with 63 minutes played.

21:19 100m and 200m Olympic champion Usain Bolt admits his defeat in the Jamaican Olympic trials to Yohan Blake served as a wake-up.

Fitness wise I wasn't the best at the trials, but I was all right. I couldn't complain.

It's always a wake up call to get beaten. It made me open my eyes and rethink a few things. But I'm all right now.

I'm just focused on winning, at championships I never think of losing. I know my competitors, it's all about defending my titles.

I'd definitely be disappointed if I didn't win. It's what I've worked for, it's been my focus for the last three years.

But I know it's going to be a hard, serious competition.

21:14 GB v Senegal: Smart stop from Butland once more - Senegal are putting a bit of pressure on GB here. From the resulting corner, the header is cleared off the line by Danny Rose. Still 1-0 to GB, with Joe Allen in some trouble with an injury.

21:11 I really don't want to like Roger Federer. He's so good at tennis, and life in general. Even his clobber is decent. And now he seems to be a true gent to fellow Swiss player Stanislas Wawrinka.

Federer, who carried the flag in 2004 and 2008, passed up the chance for a unique hat-trick.

I've done it twice and it would have been amazing to do it a third time but I just felt it was important to give someone else a chance. In Switzerland we believe that.

I told the Swiss Olympic Committee that they should choose someone else and they chose my partner, Stan Wawrinka. It's a great, great honour for him. I couldn't have won the gold without him, everybody knows that. I think they chose the right guy.

He has everything, doesn't he? Maybe he'll start to lose his hair or something. That's what happened to Aggasi.
