RAID Inc. Launches Quad-Socket Intel Server


ANDOVER, MA, July 17 --  RAID Incorporated, an end-to-end customized solutions provider in HPC, Big Data, and virtualized environments, today announces its newest building block product FusionRomley® 2U 4-Socket, available in a 2U form factor and featuring Quad Socket R (LGA 2011), which supports Intel® Xeon® processor E5-4600 family (8-Core), w/ QPI up to 8.0 GT/s.

The Intel® Xeon® processor E5-4600 product family is at the heart of RAID Inc.’s next generation, intelligent and expandable, highly versatile FusionRomley® server platform. Together with new levels of performance, I/O latency is dramatically reduced with Intel® Integrated I/O, helping to eliminate data bottlenecks, improve operations, and increase agility. 

The FusionRomley® 2U 4-Socket is flexible by design and can be optimized for a variety of applications including Data Center, Virtualized Applications & Cloud Computing, Technical Computing Environments, Medical Imaging, 3-D Rendering & Gaming, and Financial Simulation.

Researchers Squeeze GPU Performance from 11 Big Science Apps

In a report published this week, researchers documented that GPU-equipped supercomputers enabled application speedups between 1.4x and 6.1x across a range of well-known science codes. DOE Primes Pump for Exascale Supercomputers

Intel, AMD, NVIDIA, and Whamcloud have been awarded tens of millions of dollars by the US Department of Energy (DOE) to kick-start research and development required to build exascale supercomputers. The work will be performed under the FastForward program, a joint effort run by the DOE Office of Science and the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) that will focus on developing future hardware and software technologies capable of supporting such machines.
