Marchers rally in Spain to protest unemployment

MADRID (AP) — Several hundred demonstrators have traveled to Madrid from many parts of Spain to protest the country's near 25 percent unemployment rate as well as the stinging austerity measures introduced by the government in a bid to avoid an international financial bailout.

Many of the protesters are unemployed and walked long distances to converge on the capital city.

They arrived a day after the final go-ahead for a bank bailout loan of up to €100 billion ($122.9 billion) failed to calm international markets. The nation's key borrowing rate rose to a euro era record of 7.2 percent in reaction to the country's continued recession and the debts of its regions.

Carrying banners saying "No cuts" and "United, that's enough" protesters headed to Madrid's Puerta del Sol square late Saturday.

Spain has a glut of workers. When there is an excess of a product and you want to sell it, you lower the price until people are willing to buy it. That is just the law of supply and demand.
It costs too much to hire workers in Spain. So decrease costly regulations, let businesses lower wages. Then businesses will be willing to hire Spanish workers.
The alternative is to inflate the currency, make everything in the world more expensive so Spanish wages seem less burdensome.

Peachy, what exactly does that mean? It is not an attitude but an assessment of our current situation and understanding what is going on in Europe and here, not a fantasy statement.

      HOPE FOR THE DOWNTRODDEN
Nadya Suleman, better known as “Octomom,” upset many Americans with the announcement that she had decided to go on welfare back in April.
The mother of fourteen, eight of whom she gave birth to in 2009 through in-vitro fertilization, defended her decision at the time, saying: “I still am working as hard as I possibly can to support them.”
She added that she was reluctant to accept public assistance, but concluded: “[My] priority is my children, their health, their well-being, their safety…Who cares how I feel? Who cares about me? It’s 100 percent about my children.’’
She told Matt Lauer at the time that, despite posing topless for a British magazine, she drew the line at pornography.
“I won’t touch other human flesh. The only flesh I’m touching is my own,” she said.
She regrettably continued: “I have to be the ultimate positive role model [for my children].”
Well, congratulations to “Octomom” for getting off welfare, but unfortunately, it was her newly-launched pornographic career that seemingly made her enough money to be independent.
According to the Huffington Post, the 36-year-old single mother attempts to pose in a “sexy manner” while surrounded by baby clothes a number of the graphic photos. In others, she is depicted ironing, while still others show her covered in SpaghettiOs.
"I am so grateful for all the amazing opportunities that have come my way and I am finally in a stable situation,” Suleman told E! News. “I will keep working as much as I can to take care of my children.”

The EU has said what must be done for these monies to be paid in support. The people of Spain have said what must be done and have said it for many years. But no one listens
