Battlefield 3 DLC: Armored Kill trailer makes Apocalypse Now look tame

DICE smashes planes together, makes tanks into soup

Armored? Armoured? Oh lawks, it's another one of those US English/UK English spelling dilemmas. Forget all that, though, because we have incoming! DICE has released a trailer for Battlefield 3's next DLC pack, which boasts four maps, five new vehicles, a new mode and (deep breath) the "biggest Battlefield map EVER".

Brace yourself, unwary reader, for you are about to see more exploding vehicles than any man should have to see at half-two on a Thursday afternoon when I literally can't be arsed anymore. Full bullet list is below the player. The Armored/Armoured Kill pack lands in September, and Battlefield Premium members get everything free of (additional) charge.

- All-out vehicle warfare on four new maps

- Includes the biggest map in Battlefield history

- New vehicles, including tanks, ATV's, and mobile artillery

- Bring back five new vehicle unlocks to the base game

- Earn 20+ unlocks for the new vehicles in Armored Kill

- New Tank Superiority game mode

- All maps playable with all six game modes

  1. What about on a thursday afternoon at half 2?

Bloody Armoured DICE, you're swedish so use English not ''British''

  2. /thousand yard stare

  3. Thank god for a snow map. Currently really bored of most of the middle eastern desert style maps, snow makes a welcome return for me. This was one of the packs I was really looking forward to, shame it is released in the same month as Borderlands 2.

  4. Two words BAD BOI!!!

  5. Having just finished watching - wow - snow maps, and green foresty maps - and AC130s that you can pilot? I wish I had a pc as they'd probably have space for 4 people and that's a 1/3 of your team gone right there.

  6. After I ranted yesterday in the Bad Company 3 article about Battlefield 3's maps all being the same environments with no variety, I am very pleased to see snow.

  7. I will be getting this in September - as Part of my Premium subscription. I wonder how the 'biggest map in BF history' will play on console?? Some of the Maps now seem quite under populated at times and can leave you a long way from the 'Action' Still it will be good to get some new maps and these will certainly help to get the new camo's from the latest lot of assignments. I already have the 350m L96 headshot but not any of the vehicle destroys yet - 1 of my AT air destroys didn't count and you don't get the if you disable only for someone else to destroy! grrrrr!

I actually think these assignments are the most difficult to complete compared to all the previous ones and the only reward is an additional Camo! (1 for the weapon in each class) and then when you have each class assignment you can work towards the soldier Camo - at least they don't specify what weapon you have to use for that! I am not a big fan of the Scar in the engineering class and certainly wouldn't use it by choice - however the other 3 weapons (F2000, PKP and L96) are not necessarily my first choices either but I do occasionally like using them.

I am also pleased to see some 'variety' in the style and environments of these maps - How many more Deserts, Middle Eastern battle zones and Shipping Containers do we need in BF3? Nice to see snow and some more greenery too!!

These forums have magical properties. If you rant hard enough or mention something often enough an announcement is made fairly soon after.

Knights of the Old Republic 3.

  9. Holy s**t

    I want that AC130!!

Those maps look incredible fun, looks like almost every vehicle type in each map!

Snow maps, HURRAY!!! there better be some snow camo too.

This is will get me back on BF3 for sure.

  10. Very much approve, really looking forward to this.

Worried how it will survive the console scale-down but still, fingers crossed there will be enough vehicles to go around, since there will obviously be less players.

Good job it's a couple of months away so I can afford Premium by then.
