50 Best Restaurants

If you’re anything like us, you love good food. And while that sometimes means a greasy but delicious grilled cheese at your neighborhood diner, it also means your arm doesn’t need to be pulled too hard to try that new bistro with the foie gras “au torchon” either.

Some people go a step further. They’ve got a list of the best restaurants in every city they visit, and they’ll take that 45-minute train ride across town just to try the restaurant that only serves meatballs because they needed a “light meal” after their dinner at Noma the night before.

But they're not that different than you -- or us -- really. They just know a few key things that we don't. That's why we asked Next Iron Chef judge Simon Majumdar to shed some light on the matter. With S. Pellegrino's just-announced list of the world’s 50 best restaurants, we're looking to Majumdar for tips on how to actually enjoy fine dining. Watch the video above for our conversation with him.

And for this year's results, check out theworlds50best.com. (Hint: No. 1 just won for the third time.)
