Thomson Reuters Launches Westlaw CaseLogistix 5.4

eDiscovery document review tool offers enhanced collaboration tools, including closer integration with Westlaw Case Notebook

EAGAN, Minn., July 18, 2012 – Thomson Reuters today announced the launch of Westlaw CaseLogistix® 5.4. Westlaw CaseLogistix is a scalable document review, analysis and production software platform that provides a quick, simple, accurate way to review electronically stored information (ESI.). The new version makes it faster and easier to share key case documents, notes and important issues with enhanced integration with Westlaw Case Notebook case analysis tools and other new features. This helps litigators be more efficient in forming, preparing and presenting cases, allowing them to focus on analyzing discovery and building effective arguments instead of spending time organizing and managing information.

Westlaw CaseLogistix is part of Westlaw Litigator®, the most comprehensive set of integrated tools, services and content that help attorneys be more productive at each stage of a matter and more efficient in creating superior work product.

The latest version of Westlaw CaseLogistix provides enhanced integration with Westlaw Case Notebook.  Previous versions allowed key e-discovery documents to be sent into West Case Notebook. Now, documents also can be sent to Case Notebook with just a few mouse clicks, along with work product such as notes, redactions, document tags and IntelliFolders. West Case Notebook case analysis and management software provides a centrally accessible electronic case file where users can organize, analyze and collaborate on all essential case information. The enhanced integration makes it easier for team members to share information, making case preparation faster and more effective.

A new external reporting and viewing feature from the Westlaw CaseLogistix production tool makes it easier to provide discovery materials to other firms. Requesting parties can now quickly understand and view the contents on incoming productions – even without the aid of CaseLogistix

New administrative tools assist in managing forms across multiple cases and across firm networks. Simplified administrative controls make it easier to set up across new or upgraded hardware, rename databases, and more. In addition, Westlaw CaseLogistix now supports multiple central databases, and provides enhanced administration for libraries and central databases.

“Litigation – and the discovery process in particular – is growing more complex, and litigation teams need to quickly and easily share information in order to work effectively,” said Kristin Nimsger, general manager, Litigation, Thomson Reuters. “As a result, eDiscovery and other litigation support tools need to work together to facilitate collaboration among team members. Westlaw CaseLogstix 5.4 provides enhanced integration with Westlaw Case Notebook, along with other new features, making it easier and faster to share documents, issues and more. The end result is better sharing of information, helping firms build more effective cases, enabling better outcomes for clients.”
