Kinect's Wreckateer brings the house down - with flying boulders

Molest 60 castles using motion controls and medieval technology

Microsoft has announced Wreckateer. It's Crush the Castle in 3D! You'll get to prep and launch comedy boulders at Monty Python flavoured medieval fortifications, then steer or otherwise interact with them as they hurtle through the air with the greatest of ease.

"Wreckateer uses Kinect to put you in control of a massive castle-wrecking ballista," reads the blurb. "With the help of Wreck and Tinker, travel the land and destroy 60 castles using six magical projectiles, and explore the infinite ways you can wreak havoc with Wreckateer's fully-dynamic destruction."

You want more specifics? Fine. Pull your hands back to prep. Chuck them forward to launch. Then, grip whatever you've fired to do things with it as it flies. Chainshot-type projectiles can be split out into a line, slicing buildings in half. Ye Olde ICBMs (not formal title) give you full manual control, allowing you to (for example) pilot through a window to detonate a TNT cache.

It looks bouncy, bright and fun, and it's part of this year's Summer of Arcade.
