Bandar Desert Will Be "Biggest Battlefield Map Ever"

By Taylor Cocke | PC News | Jul 16, 2012 11:47 AM | 0 Comments

You know what I'm tired of? Size does/doesn't matter jokes. So I'm going to get right to the point: DICE is making the biggest Battlefield map ever for Battlefield 3's upcoming Armored Kill DLC pack. Bandar Desert is going to be 1,900 meters long, about 800 meters longer than Caspian Border's 1,100. For us Americans, that's almost exactly half a mile bigger. That's quite a jog. Read More »

We Have No Idea About the Deadpool Game

By Taylor Cocke | PC News | Jul 16, 2012 11:05 AM | 0 Comments

So, Deadpool is getting his very own video game. He's been in a bunch of others, like Marvel vs. Capcom 3 or Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, so he's no stranger to the gaming world. But there's a difference between those games and the new one: We know what those games are about. In fact, just about the only thing we know about the new Deadpool game is that Deadpool's in it and he's voiced by Nolan North. Oh, and it's being made by High Moon Studios. That may be enough for some, but I'd like some more substance, if you please. Read More »

Chill Out: No Passwords Stolen in Minecraft Hack

By Taylor Cocke | PC News | Jul 16, 2012 10:35 AM | 0 Comments

Hey jerks of the Internet, can you please not hack cool stuff? Everyone likes Minecraft, so we don't really appreciate it when you mess with the world-building game's servers. I mean, according to Mojang, you didn't really get anything from it anyway, so why'd you make us unable to play one of our favorite games? Read More »

Anna Trailer Wants Into Your Head

By Taylor Cocke | PC News | Jul 16, 2012 9:57 AM | 0 Comments

So, I'm confused. Is Anna in my head? Is Anna in her own head, but trying to escape? Is she in the basement? Seriously, someone tell me. All I know, according to this trailer, is that she "has a mind." Looks like I'm just going to have to pick up the thing to figure out what in the world any of it means. Read More »

Side-Scrolling Console MOBA Awesomenauts Coming to Steam Soon

By Mike Sharkey | PC News | Jul 16, 2012 8:57 AM | 0 Comments

Thanks to the fist-pumping '80s movie montage theme song alone ("Awesome, Awesome, Awesome-nauts!") I'm sold. The folks at Ronimo just announced that they'll be bringing their platforming console MOBA, Awesomenauts, to Steam "within a month." Better yet, the closed beta is set to begin within the week. Marvel Heroes Combat Trailer Gets Down to the Boom, Kapow, Bam

By Mike Sharkey | PC News | Jul 16, 2012 8:23 AM | 0 Comments

Evidently there is a sizable contingent of gamers who are put off by Gazillion's MMOARPG, Marvel Heroes, because they won't be able to create their own spandex-clad characters. Hold on, the phone is ringing, I'll get back to this in a second. Hello? Oh, hey DC Universe Online. 'Sup. What's that? You're feeling down in the dumps? A bunch of gamers are put off by you because they can't play as their favorite superheroes and instead have to create their own? Huh. I think I know someone you should talk to. Read More »

Take a Tour of 18th Century Boston in Assassin's Creed 3 Gameplay Trailer

By Mike Sharkey | PC News | Jul 16, 2012 7:50 AM | 0 Comments

A bit of background: I'm a Boston native and spent two years living a stone's throw from the Old North Church, the place where the "one if by land, and two if by sea" lanterns sent Paul Revere on his midnight ride. And I can't wait to scale that sucker in Assassin's Creed 3. Ubisoft showed off gameplay footage of AC3 at Comic-Con over the weekend, in the process taking us on a tour of 18th century Boston. Take a trip through Fanueil Hall and the old harbor within. Read More »

Steam Summer Sale Crashes Ubisoft's UPlay

By Mike Sharkey | PC News | Jul 16, 2012 7:05 AM | 0 Comments

Devious Gabe Newell. The Valve boss once again lured unsuspecting PC gamers into his lair with the promise of delicious deals in the Steam Summer Sale. His plan: siphon funds from your bank account while simultaneously destroying the competition. The strategy played out with villain-mustache-twisting perfection this weekend as gamers gobbled up Ubisoft's price-slashed franchises in massive numbers, only to discover the volume of players the Steam Summer Sale created crashed Ubisoft's DRM-laden UPlay system. Sneaky, cold-blooded Gabe Newell. Read More »

Mass Effect 3: The Anime

By Katie Williams | PC News | Jul 15, 2012 11:52 AM | 0 Comments

It's surreal to think of the Mass Effect-verse being flattened into a traditional 2D animation, but that's exactly what's happening with Mass Effect: Paragon Lost, a prequel to the events of Mass Effect 3. This first trailer was just revealed at San Diego Comic-Con, ahead of a planned Blu-ray and DVD release of November 2012. Read More »

By Katie Williams | PC News | Jul 15, 2012 11:34 AM | 0 Comments

After looking at stats gathered from the original game, the big bosses at Gearbox have estimated that people will be playing Borderlands 2 for around two-and-a-half years after its release -- and they've decided to cook up a capless "badass system" to give players something to do with all that time.
