Job: Editor, Well-Being Vertical (In Conjunction With HuffPost Partner)

HuffPost is seeking an experienced and dynamic editor to launch a new, high-profile vertical. You will be responsible for creating and updating a robust selection of personal well-being content, including aggregated stories, reported articles, videos, slideshows, etc. You will help manage blog submissions, edit the work of others on your team, and work collaboratively with others throughout HuffPost. The section is in partnership with another media brand, so you will also work in close collaboration with somebody from the partner company to determine appropriate content to repurpose for the new vertical. You should always be focused on fundamental web publishing responsibilities like creating a strong social media presence, following best practices for SEO, and -- above all -- growing the site's interactive community of commenters.

Responsibilities:

JOB: Part-time Bilingual Comment Moderator

The Huffington Post is on the leading edge of Community Moderation and management and we are looking for a part time (18 hours per week) entry level French and English Bilingual moderator to join our team, as a remote or office based position.

JOB: Senior Organizer, OfftheBus citizen journalism project

LOCATION: Washington DC

The Huffington Post is seeking a self-starting journalist to help manage OfftheBus, our citizen journalism program. Equal parts editor and community manager, this role involves overseeing communications with citizen journalists and coordinating their work with The Huffington Post's Politics team. This person would also be responsible for finding, curating, editing and crowdsourcing short-form citizen journalism from blogs, online communities and social networks for publication on OfftheBus. This position is responsible for creating compelling social news experiences, showcasing the real-time interactions on a page and supporting a host of graphic production in support of the 30+ vertical category sites that are currently part of the core of The Huffington Post. The site is in the midst of a monumental growth curve and as a result we are increasing the designers in support of the various category properties from new feature banners to design and development of new sections, modules and apps. As has been written in the press we are now set to expand to Europe and in multiple languages so we need a team that can grow with us.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design with emphasis on Media Design, Interactive Media, Information Design or related equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Required Skills
Enterprise level Linux expert with experience in load-balanced web servers. We use CentOS here.
Web services, caching and load balancing expertise. Apache, memcache, nginx, varnish, Akamai, Redis.
Amazon EC2, S3 and most especially RightScale experience is a plus.
Git/Subversion.
Network & System Security. Enterprise level network/system security experience is a definite plus.
Automation Experience. We believe in automating tasks to make our work easier, and we'll want you to play a key role in helping us do that.
Written and verbal communication skills are very important in this environment.
Experience running and participating in projects with distributed teams.

The ideal candidate is someone that goes far beyond task work: you should be able to discover what needs to be done, figure out how to do it and get it done.
