Gothenburg is at the heart of Northern Europe – almost equidistant from the three Scandinavian Capitals: Stockholm, Copenhagen and Oslo. Gothenburg is located in the south-west of Sweden which means that the winters are not as cold and snowy as in the northern regions. Polar bears and igloos are conspicuous by their absence. The summers are longer too in the south. The city quite often enjoys Mediterranean temperatures and the sun does not set until around ten or eleven o’clock in the evening.
