Bop It! Smash: Lightning-Quick Reflexes Not Included
That weird dumbbell-shaped gizmo is the latest incarnation of Hasbro's popular Bop It! toy. The older models had various things to bop, twirl, pull, and tweak ¿ all set to various sound effects and a voice shouting instructions at you. The Bop It! Smash takes the basic "bop" control and boils it down to a game of fast reflexes.21 hours ago

Form vs. Function: Wood Shell and KidSafe Cases for iPhone 4S
I love a good iPhone case, but as my junk drawer fills up with more and more options it becomes that much harder for a simple phone cover to make a proper impression. Still, there are those at work crafting innovative new shells for the ubiquitous iPhone 4/4S, even if what sets them apart also limits their overall utility.22 hours ago

Study: WikiLeaked Data Can Predict Insurgent Attacks
Insurgencies are amongst the hardest conflicts to predict. Insurgents can be loosely organized, split into factions, and strike from out of nowhere. But now researchers have demonstrated that with enough data, you might actually predict where insurgent violence will strike next. The results, though, don't look good for the U.S.-led war.07.17.12

There was a time when concertgoers were perfectly happy just listening to the band play. Not anymore. Merry Christmas in July!
The past couple of years, my little family has been starting some of our own family traditions. At Thanksgiving we have a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving lunch. In June we celebrate May the Fourth Be With You. In July we celebrate Christmas in July. Why? Because it's fun and any excuse to get out our Santa hats and Christmas movies is good enough for us.07.17.12

The Wow Wireless Bluetooth Speaker: Style and Sound
Here's a crowdfunding project for all you audiophiles. It's the Wow Wireless bluetooth speaker and it not only sounds great, but looks great, too. Despite the huge number of speakers out there, most of them look a lot alike. They're generally little cubes or little rectangles made of shiny metal and plastic. It's not that they're ugly, but they're just not very pretty. This little speaker delivers not only great sound, but a genuinely stylish design that will add to your room.07.16.12

GeekDad Puzzle of the Week Solution: Math Trolls
Nora made it successfully to her Grandmother's house with at least 1000 berries, enough for quite a few pies. Here is the puzzle as presented earlier this week: Nora is taking a trip to visit her Grandmother in northernmost New York State this week, to bring her some freshly picked berries. On the way there, she has to cross a total of 30 bridges, and under each of the these bridges lives a troll. (That's how they roll in northernmost New York.) Each troll is aware of their bridge number, and either demands or gives berries based upon the rarest or most applicable description of their bridge. They demand or give berries according to the following schedule...07.16.12
