Left 4 Dead 2 DLC: Cold Stream dated for Xbox 360

Valve's next pack out in July

A week after the release of sundry Half-Life 3 concept arts, Valve has finally broken its silence... on the subject of the Xbox 360 release of Left 4 Dead 2 DLC pack Cold Stream.

"After months *cough*year*cough* of play testing not just the Cold Stream campaign on the PC but the entire DLC consisting of Blood Harvest, Crash Course, Cold Stream, Dead Air, and Death Toll, we are ready to release on the Xbox 360," writes the Left 4 Dead blog. "The date will be July 24th."

"There are some other surprises and details we will give you later but for now we just want to confirm an often requested feature," it adds. "With the update going out at the same time (also for the PC), all of the mutations will be available at all times. This will allow players to choose to match into games playing Taannkk!, Gib Fest, or even a user created mutation like Confogl."

No word on whether that last bit will apply to the console version too. Fingers crossed. Anybody playing Left 4 Dead 2 right now? I used to be a dab hand with the Jockey.

  1. I was only asking about the dlc two weeks ago as I'd just bought the game again. All stuff should apply to 360, I think it says 'also for pc' in it as well, but they've had the dlc for 18 months now.

  2. As I said on the L4D thread:

    It's a miracle!!!!!

  3. It's because they saw us discussing it in the thread I reckon, and I'm sticking with that.

  4. I'll try not to let the power go to my head....

BIOWARE MAKE KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC 3!!!!!!!!

  5. They only need to put the SP content of Old Republic into a game, for SP, though probably with what would seem necessary co-op

I'm crying out for more Battlefront still, and would accept an XBLA HD remake of both games, thanks.

  6. Man, this game, and the first one were some of my best ever multiplayer experiences when they came out.

The trouble is you move on, and when you come back months later, you find the only people still playing are now taking pixel-perfect routes through the levels. Add to that the fact they can boot teammates, and you're lucky to last more than one minute before you make a tiny error and get kicked off.

  7. They need to make another Left 4 Dead game, but recapture that feeling of fighting for your life and the tension and atmosphere of the first game. The sequel was by no means a bad game but the excessive daylight did give it a feeling og being a fairground shooting gallery at times.

All the first game's levels are now on the second game on PC, I think the article said they're doing the same on xbox.
