How Would A Valve 'Steambox' Impact the Industry?
Why We Love Unloved Games.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes this is my real name, not a self-indulgent alter-ego, I am simply confident in my words and don't see the need to be anonymous with them. And despite my age do not suppose I am a snotty Call of Duty brat, in fact I do not play any sort of multiplayer, and would be just as comfortable discussing the origins of Buddhism as I am dissecting a skill tree in an RPG (although the latter would probably be done poorly :) ).
My passion with and understanding of the industry truly began with this generation so there are numerous classic titles that I have not played, many that are considered as essentials, from the Resident Evils to the GTAs. In fact there are numerous current-gen games that I have neglected, as the main driving force behind my purchases is the story concept at their core, so zombies, crime and military shooters have failed to take space on my hard drives (today however I am very excited for GTA V after glorious experiences with Read Dead Redemption).
However through the glory of the internet I am able to be very well connected and aware of what's happening in the industry, as it has become a real passion of mine, so new releases, studio closures, and even developer trivia finds its way into my noggin, allowing me to talk about virtually anything that's going on. Another great source besides GI is PSM3, a British Playstation magazine with wit and intelligent, unbiased opinion that would be essential reading if only it were multiplatform. Plus their podcasts (free on itunes!) are incredible industry insight!
