Why is "public transit" aka KAT closed? There are still people who need to go to work who do not have other transportation. Public transportation in Atlanta, New York City, San Francisco, Los Angelos, or Houston will not shut down on Wednesday. It is another example of failure of service by KAT like no hospital routes on Sunday. Ridership might be up but lack of a comprehensive public bus service is still missing in Knoxville.

Even if not to get to work, to get to the festivities downtown. KAT should operate everyday.

KAT should have a holiday schedule, even if it isn't all routes and half as many buses. There is still a need for public transportation on holidays.

Forget the big cities...even the small cities maintain public transportation on holidays. It's so absurd that the average person wouldn't even think about public transportation not running.

What a failure by KAT management.

I bet if UT had a football game on the 4th, KAT would be running.
