Salon 1989

Salon is a fantastic champagne producer and 1989 is a very strong vintage. In today's market, I would think that if stored properly the 1989 Salon would be worth $250 - $300 a bottle.

Sweet wines

Try the Apothic Red, which at $10 a bottle is an excellent medium dry red. If you want to try something a little sweeter, go with a Red Moscato. They start around $6 and go up from there.

champagne

There are a lot of factors that have to be determined before knowing if the bottle is worth anything. The major factor is how was the bottle stored all of these years? In a temperature-controlled cellar? If not, then it's not worth much at all. Anyway, being a 1978 vintage, it's most likely past its prime.

Cabernets

Besides Caymus, we carry Silver Oak, Spottswoode, Shafer, Paul Hobbs, Stag's Leap, Turnbull, Cakebread, to name a few. As for the Top 100, this year's list was quite odd. We had several of the wines earlier in the year but were sold out by the time the list was released. There is no way to know what wines will make the list.
Merry Christmas!

Linda,
That question should be asked to your doctor but I believe I would start with wines with lower sulphites like wines from the Rhone Valley of France.
