“If she were some random lawyer at a soulless private firm, I would say who cares. However she works for a government entity in the attorney general's office. She as at risk foe blackmail is someone finds out.”
“I also assume that her after-hours employment entails a presumption of secrecy and confidentiality; what happens if she encounters a client in court? She would have to recuse herself, of course, but she might face an ethical quandary if she knew personal details that could be incriminating about the individual.”
“I received a one year subscription of Netflix as a Xmas gift. Even though I don't use it much it was nice. I would have considered paying $10 for the service once my year was up. However, the content for streaming is sparse (apart from documentaries) and I watch maybe on movie every 4-6 weeks. I am better off using Redbox. I will not renew.”
“I have a Google+ account that's dormant. I trust Google even less with my personal information. It's funny that the picture I used as my profile picture on Google+ shows up on all these websites that claim to reconnect people together. Google is just too tied into marketing and advertising. I'll stick with Facebook.”
“Turn off your anti-spyware and anti virus and watch what happens? Bub, I've had a MacBook Pro for over one year without any anti virus or anti spyware INSTALLED on it. I am virus free.”
“This is the silliest assessment of why Window 8 will work. It's predicated of widespread adoption of tablet OS by 2016. Is the author also supposing on the fact that Android or iOS will not continue to get beefed up to be able to run computers or laptops by then? Currently Mac OS has a good hybrid that most people will feel comfortable. I am a 32 year old fairly tech savvy person. I've seen some video on Windows 8. The learning curve seems a bit high especially for me, let alone the most casual user. I don't know how practical it will be for enterprise. The vast majority of people do not have tablets. The success of tech is in the now and not in the future, especially if it's 6 years off.”
“It's funny that you think Wiz has a ton of cash. Sure he's had some singles in the top 40s but that does not mean he has a ton of cash. MC Hammer was 100x more popular and sold 10x more record but went bankrupt. Wiz is a weed head who is or will be broke within the next 5 years.”
“I am waiting patiently for the iPhone 5. I have a iPhone 3G that's over two years old and getting pretty long in the tooth. I have not even considered getting any Android phone based on the poor battery life, garish design and hardware maker bloatware (euphemestically known as "skin") preinstalled.”
“This is a silly app. As a straight guy I just don't see the appeal for this if I were single (I am married). How is it different than Match? At least on Match there's more of a pretense about courting which is comforting to women.”
“She cared enough to post silly pictures of herself because she's a "frustrated size 12." What the poster above is saying is to be truthful because she's not fooling anybody. That's all.”
“If people were not legally married people could get severely disenfranchised if the breadwinner decides to walk. Imagine if a homemaker wife or a stay at home dad who's raising the kids has their spouse walk out on them? What if they are kicked out of the house? If someone has been living together for 10-15 years and they divorce, imagine the nightmare of trying to figure who's property is whose? What if a spouse dies unexpectedly? You don't think brothers, sisters, or parents have as much rights to their property, money and investments as the girlfriend or boyfriend?
If there is no marriage there's no legal recourse in events when the relationship turns badly after 10, 15, or 20 years of cohabitating.”
“It's sad that this family was destroyed by the lure of fame on reality TV. 10 years from now, when some of these kids are angry and Kate and John are nothing more than an after thought in the public consciousness, will they look back and say it was a mistake?”
“There's a lot of spying and subterfuge going on among tech company. If the specs and dimensions are leaked out that could affect the billions in peripherals. It gives competitors and edge, especially for very popular devices like the iPad or iPhone. Having that initial cool form factor is crucial in sales. So basically billions are on the line. So any company would go through those same lengths.”
“I have a friend who swore by his Android phone. He even tried making the argument that his PC laptop was better than my MacBook Pro. Anyways, he's come around. He's trading in his Android phone for an iPhone and he's getting an iPad.”
“I am a firm supporter of the d3ath penalty. There was supposed international 0utrage of this Mexican scuum who r@ped, br00talized, and m00rdered a 16 year old girl because the Mexican consulate was not alerted first by Texas officials. I am glad they put that m0nster to sleep. Hundreds of thousand innocent civilians have been killed over the last 10 years in our "war on terr0r."”
“I end up keeping my DVDs for several weeks to months at a time so it's more expensive than renting from Blockbuster. The free streaming was a nice perk. It won't be worth it for $16 because the selection on streaming is just not that good.”
“I have the same problem, I get a DVD and it takes a week for me to find a time to watch it. I also agree for a few bucks the streaming was a nice perk, but seldom used and not worth another eight bucks to me.”
“Buzz deserves his just deserts. He is a three time marriage loser. The fact that he could be with someone like this speaks to his character. I guess all's fair in love and war.”
“I hear you that dating can be tough. However, I have to wonder how much of your dating woes are self-inflicted. I had a female friend in college who was lamenting about lack of available guys. Well when I found out a mutual buddy was interested in her I dutifully told her about him. He seemed a good catch. He was an engineering major, taller than average and decent looking. I was baffled at her response. She wasn't interested in him because he was too nice. She was afraid that she would step all over him. My wife also have single friends in their early to mid 30s who are still looking for the wrong type of guys and continually lament on the stunt these guys pull.
This I fear also applies to you. There are plenty of decent guys available. Often times they are passed over for the CAD who is sociable, charming, and perceived to be more fun. I don't know your age but guys generally in their 30s or 40s who are the settling down type, probably are married already. Those who are single at that age are divorced. So my advise to you is to reevaluate your priorities and start looking for the nice guys.”
“Total agreement!! I always wondered why so many women were attracted not only to the CAD, but to the truly "bad boys". The guy who is clearly on the periphery of criminality seems to be much more attractive than the engineering major. It is more exciting ... until they smack the girl around.”
“This tablet will not rival the iPad in anything. It has less horses, function, doesn't have cameras to skype of video chat, etc. The iPad is still very much a premium product with more specs and horsepower than this.
It is however a good price point for a basic tablet. Those who ordinarily wouldn't buy a tablet for starting $500 but were interested would get this. It will be great for high school students and cost conscious folks. It is more of a rival to the Nook color from B&N. It will also cannibalize sales from the original Kindle. The calculus would be why get a basic Kindle without color when one can pay the same price for one with a basic tablet function.”
“All those people who are decrying e-ink will get over it. Amazon's new reader is much more versatile. The iPad changed the game for eReaders. B&N got that and added color and many can root their reader to be a basic tablet. Amazon went one step and eliminated the need to root it to use it as a basic tablet to surf the web and check email. It's a logical evolution from the Kindle. Oh, I have an iPad-2 and have no problems reading books on it for hours on at a time. The price point on this tablet is a sweet spot. It has the potential to be very popular.”

“ER in its first 3-4 seasons is one of the greatest medical drama shows EVER. All that's come after it is just derivative melodrama with absurd story lines. I didn't see one episode of this show but I imagine it wasn't any good.”
