“Yup, totally the same. A dart board bullseye or archery target that shows where the margin of winning the state is less than 10% vs scope crosshairs with the comments of "These are the people who voted a certain way, Lets take a stand" right on the poster.
Please tell me your joking when you say that these are even remotely in the same ballpark.”
“They can't because they don't exist. Neither do comments like 'don't retreat; reload' or Bachmann's comment about making the citizens of MN armed and dangerous. The link only exists in their hysterical little minds.”
“If you've ever played with a Samsung Galaxy, you'd know immediately that the OS is not the same... Unless you mean that they're both set up on a screen (Samsung is actually bigger btw) in a grid pattern.”
“It's odd that many of the features on your latest iProduct were born of things from the Android... A really obvious one is Multitasking (which your iPhone still doesn't truly do but we'll run with that)”
It is a generic feature that Apple handles completely differently than Android. So there is no way to claim that Apple is copying something that is completely different.
Saying Apple doesn't offer multitasking or TRUE multitasking is a semantics argument. If it looks and feels like multitasking... It is multitasking.”
“The iPad doesn't exist today because Apple came up with the idea. Apple copied someone else's idea and made it more marketable and now they're suing saying it was their idea.
The iPhone doesn't exist today because Apple invented the smartphone or a touchscreen phone. They copied someone's idea and made it more marketable and now they're suing everyone else saying they came up with the ideas..
See a pattern here? Probably not but seeing things that are blatantly obvious are not your strong point.”
“They've been advertising that for quite a long time. And yes, it would be a slap in the face, it's really the one thing that really keeps me with them.”
“1) Root your phone, dump it and put Cyanogenmod on your phone or find a true Android Gingerbread non-HTC rom to put on your phone. My battery life hits an easy 30 hours on a single charge with moderate usage. When I'm careful I've hit 50 hours between charges.
2) The Evo sucks up data much faster than non-4g phones. I actually use 3G wifi tether when I'm travelling for business because I'm able to download at 1.5mb/s on 3G. This is the reason for the $10 difference, the Evo is a data hog even on 3G. They misrepresented this whole $10 / 4G thing when it started but I got into an hour long discussion with several Sprint reps (some nice, some not so nice) trying to figure out that charge. It's not actually for 4G but since the Evo was the fastest and heaviest data sucking phone, that's when it began.”

“Good points, but you forget the other side of things. For all those who use BART and who have done nothing wrong. Maybe you were on the BART when this went down and your father was trying to call you to say that your mom was in a major car accident and she's at the hospital and probably won't survive. How would you feel getting off the BART, getting the message and rushing to the hospital to find out she'd passed away when had you just gotten the call while on the train you could have gotten off and made it to the hospital to see her before she died?”
“So by your own math, Half of those 3 decades was run by conservatives and two thirds of that time so was the white house... Meaning more time was held by conservatives... so the point is valid.”
“Can't really blame Netflix for that. The Sony / Cinemax / Universal, etc are all renegotiating their contracts with Netflix and jacking up the price because each of those companies has their own version of streaming.”
“Here's a question, how is this any different from the safety requirements we place on vehicles here in the US? There are so many cars we are not allowed to have because they don't meet OUR standards. If they want to get certain cars to be sold here they must make a vehicle that meets our standards. Them saying "you must meet x standard to fly in our country" is absolutely no different.”
I don't disagree that there needs to be a lot of restructuring everywhere. What I disagree with is the statement of "Vote Republican and everything will be fixed". Historically you look at any Republican in power and the economy tanks. Our spending goes through the roof and we have a bigger mess to deal with than we did before they got in office.
Republicans are corporate America's b ! T c H e S and I think right now in this country we have a bigger issue with big business raping this country than unions.. Unions didn't get bailed out, Corporate America, banks, big business did, even after they're the one's who screwed everything up. You want to talk about fending for themselves, get on them for a change and not the little guy who's trying to make a living for themselves. The Unions didn't ask america to bend over and fix a problem the created, the republican lap dogs did on the other hand.”
“Your right, I don't know a ton about California specifically. I do know that California dumped their Republican Gov for a dem who was successful in the past.
So since you seem to think it falls fully on the Public Union workers, show me the evidence that they are the root cause of all the problems in California. Even in California the problem isnt the union, it's their spending problem. The one that seemed to skyrocket under Arnold. Just like at the federal level under other republicans.
As far as Obama's deficits? What deficits, what wars? Both wars Afghanistan and Iraq have cost this country 3.7 TRILLION and they're Bush's wars. All the bailouts, Bush as well.. The only thing you might pin on Obama is Libya and that is not nearly 3.7 trillion.
I love that your blaming the current president for not fixing all of the massive problems handed down to him from the previous version in a quarter of the time that the problem was created in.
Here's the problem. Tax loopholes, defense spending, Afghanistan, and Iraq. Here are the first steps we should take as a country, pull out of Afghanistan, Iraq, closed all those business loopholes that allow them to tax free (and in some cases get a negative tax rate) and cut defense spending in half. All while getting rid of wasteful spending like the bridge to no where or subsidies to oil companies.”

“axes will have to go up on over $500k earners, and entitlements, defense, ALL of it, medicare, SS, will have to be restructured, and people better get used to figuring out how to fend more for themselves , because if we don't fix the structural deficits there will be no economy or anything to divvy up. It will all be in the sh**er.
BTW, Brown was not all that successful in the past. He is better than some, but he had given in to unions too but I think he is coming around that the people will not be taxed any longer.
Our taxes just expired, with a 1 % down on the sales tax, and the car tax went way down on our registrations too.”
If you look at history, during every Republican President, spending went through the roof - Reagan, Bush SR carried it on, national debt went down during Clinton and then guess what.. W comes in and holy god, where are we today?
But of course, you want to blame the dems and the unions? Spoken like a true Republicant. Open your eyes, not your mouth and look at what happens during Republican control. W had full control of EVERYTHING and look where the country is today?
I'm not going to say that the dems are a lot better, they are to blame as well but ffs, don't go off telling me that the Republicans will fix it. Every time they get full control we go billions (and now trillions) further in debt.”
“You are mixing FEDERAL politics with STATE... apples and oranges.
As far as Ca goes, you sound like you know NOTHING about the politics here. I don't have problem with private unions, but public ones with guaranteed pensions and benefits dont' cut it.
Yes, Republicans would have a much better chance of fixing Ca. They are not beholden to the public employee union thugs here.
The economic malaise we are in can be blamed at the Federal level on BOTH parties, but I bet you don't see it that way. By the way, Obama's deficits and his wars are equal to, and in the case of deficits, far out do what W did.
I disagree that there is nothing we can do. If we as Americans stopped buying the products that are produced by Foxconn it would actually put a pretty good hurt on companies and it would make companies like Apple and MS move to have a different manufacturer produce their product.
The problem is we don't want to spend the extra few dollars to do that. I, again, personally avoid buying HP, Dell, MS, Sony, etc when I can. There are obviously times where I don't really have a choice but when I do, I will not buy a Foxconn product.
I think one of the sticking points with Apple and Foxconn (and this is just my personal opinion) is that Apple reaps much higher profits than other companies. Apple has the unique ability to keep a massively high price on a product that has inferior tech in it. You can put a Sony Vaio laptop against an Apple laptop and get 2 or 3 times the specs for the same price.
All the hardware in all the different types of computers are the same. Everyone uses Intel chips and I believe Apple is even using NVIDIA video cards. They both cost the same to produce but you match specs and Apple is absolutely overcharging for their product based on the cost to manufacture.. That make sense?”
“I never did bring this horse up. I was just poking at the "+r0//s". In all honesty, I'm not fond of anyone who uses Foxconn as their manufacturer.
Your argument about them treating their workers better than other companies doesn't mean that they treat their employee's well. It just means they treat their employee's a little less $ h 1 t t y than other manufacturers. Whoopty-do. Walmart pays their employee's more than minimum wage but they still treat a lot of their employee's like crap don't they?
Personally with phones, I like to stick with HTC. They were named manufacturer of the year this year (or maybe 2010) because they actually do take care of their employee's. Most of the other products I buy, if I can purchase something that was made here in the states I do.
It's near impossible to do with electronics however but I have a choice of where to spend my money and if possible I don't buy from a company who I don't believe in their practices.”

“Actually my point about them treating their workers better than those employed by other groups does say a lot. We are talking about a foreign nation and their laws which were put in place decades before this current electronics mass-production.
There is nothing we can do about it short of trying to force a foreign, sovereign nation (that we are deeply indebted to) to raise their wages, decrease the length of the average work days and offer more benefits.
When it comes down to it, we Americans do not work anywhere nearly as hard as most of our counterparts. To expect all of them to pay like we demand to be paid isn't realistic although it sure would be nice. It's brutal but it's the truth.
I hear ya on HTC, I've heard good things regarding their practices and standards but I prefer iOS over Android or WP7.”
“Knowledge Navigator was a concept from the then CEO Sculley. It was never a commercial product. If you want to talk concepts go to the Xerox Dynabook back in the late 60's.
Newton was closest to a bloody PDA. To try and put that up against an actual Smartphone with a touchscreen is really stretching it. To top it off your add that "If you add a network card". Sorry, not even close to the same thing.”
“Of course the Newton was a PDA but it shows Apple had been working towards what is not the iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad "concept" for a very long time. Of course KN was a concept, just like the GUI was for Xerox. No one is claiming Apple got ripped off. You made statements that people were first and I say, no they weren't since there were recognizable previous concepts that had been discussed pre-dating the releases you listed. If you said Apple "invented" the GUI I'd correct you on that as well.
As for the "add a network card" bit? Name a single handheld device available through the consumer retail market which could do the same. What other handheld had a PC card slot so you could jack in through a modem or even Cat-5? Are you honestly trying to say that was a common feature of handheld devices from Palm and WinCE? lol”
You still failed to show me where MS announced that their product is "Innovative and new!" like Apple does with their copied products. All you've done is show that Balmer knocked on their competitor. Which is something EVERY company does to their competitors. Apple knocks Windows / Android. Android knocks Windows / Apple. Windows knocks Apple / Android.. It's part of business.
Steve Jobs knocked the iPad himself years before he produced it. 2003 - "Tablets are great for "a bunch of rich guys who want to have a third computer."" Steve Jobs.. I know, all this is blasphemy when talking to an Apple fan and I'm wrong and blah blah blah, the sun shines out of Steve's back side.. I've heard it all and there is nothing that Apple has invented, nothing Apple has been "innovative" with, absolutely nothing special about Apple except their marketing department.”
“So, here's one thing that Microsoft did that Apple has not. Apple has yet to build a platform from scratch. Windows on the other hand (NT) was built from ground 0.
Microsoft actually saved Apple for the record, and it's not their fault Apples business model nearly put them under back in the 80's.
The key difference between Apple and MS is that MS doesnt go around bragging about how "Innovative" and "New" their products are.”
He was promising customers and shareholders alike "an amazing wave of innovation," in smartphones, Office, Windows, etc...
A lovely quote about MS from him: "So, I think the output of our innovation is great. We have a culture of self-improvement. I know we can continue to improve. There is no issue. But at the same time, our absolute level of output is fantastic."
-or-
"And then you take a look at Spaces, there is this great innovation that came out of nowhere. We have the number one blogging site in the world because of the innovation that`s there."
Yes, he is not nearly as hyped about MS's stuff but he does make promises all the time that fall flat.”

LOL....... you didn't seriously type that, did you? Have you ever heard Steve Balmer announce a MS product? Not only does he crow loudly about everything MS produces, he trashes Apple's products.
Balmer famously trashed both the iPhone and the iPad when they came out.
