<3 'Tis me, now with contrast

Working at RPGamer is a funny thing; even though I've been working here for well over a year, it doesn't feel like I've been around half as long. I really enjoy working in Q&A;, because it gives me a bird's-eye view of how RPGamers really feel about everything from new consoles to RPG releases. I feel that I learn a whole lot through this position, and I only have my readers to thank for that.

Now, what about myself? I'm a graduate student and teacher's assistant in mathematics at the University of Guelph. As many other grad students could tell you, these degrees tend to stretch themselves out quite easily, and indeed, my original plans to finish in the fall of 2006 have been pushed back a semester, all in the name of sanity. Mo matter, though, for all is well, and I'm enjoying my academic life nonetheless. Outside of school, I like spending time with my friends and my other family members, and quality time with my partner Tom, who has been an important part of my life for the past three years. I love to travel, too, but I wish I had more money to do that with...

In the world of RPGs, my place is Dragon Quest. Dragon Quest VIII was an absolutely fantastic game, as far as I'm concerned, and I urge any RPG players to pick it up and try it if they haven't already. My grandma introduced me to the series when I was just eight or nine years old, and I can vividly remember chatting about strategies for taking on Wolflords and Wyverns over a Pizza Hut lunch shortly after she showed me the game for the first time. Since then, Dragon Warrior has grown on me like mold on cheese. After my friend Ken introduced me to the Final Fantasy series back in elementary school, I was completely and hopelessly lost to the RPG genre, destined to wind up working for RPGamer one day down the road. That day is today! Other favourite games of mine include Earthbound, Xenosaga, Disgaea, Fire Emblem, and much more. Of course, I'm always willing to try new games out, and I love receiving suggestions from people about which hole in my RPG history I should fill next.

Otherwise, I don't have a whole lot more to say! I'm a very friendly guy, and I love hearing from people in person, so don't hesitate to give me a shout if you want to get to know me better! Find me hanging around on IRC in the #rpgamer channel under the name Wonderslime, or add me to MSN Messenger: My ever-so-daunting address is wizardofpandemonium@hotmail.com.

Failing that, I hope to get a letter one day from you in the Q&A; section!
