Born and raised in Paris, French pop folktronica artist Cocovan has been jet-setting between her home country and America since she was 18, pursuing the dreams she so often describes in her songs. A self-taught musician, Cocovan began recording her own acoustic demos at 16, but evolving in Parisian nightlife progressively transformed her sonic identity. Capitivated by '80s electro clash and '90s pop alike, she began adding electronic elements to her organic demos, creating the brisk, light, and playful sound she has been exploring ever since.

Cocovan draws inspiration from many enigmatic sources. Science fiction, theories about the cosmos, TED Talks, and human psychology fascinate her, while her roots in French culture bring her back to Earth. The art and designs of Serge Lutens, Thierry Mugler, and Jean Paul Gaultier heavily influence her imagery and style. Musically, unconventional pop artists like Ellie Goulding, Santigold, and Florence Welch continue to inspire Cocovan to make music that is uncompromisingly true to her own vision.
