First BlackBerry 10 devices emerge: RIM introducing L-series in September, N-series in Q1 2013?
Research in Motion is one company in dare need of new and exciting products, and BlackBerry 10 is expected to provide exactly that - a complete overhaul of the BlackBerry 7 platform and brand new devices.

While previously we’ve heard about the BlackBerry London and Nevada handsets hitting the final production line, now a leaked slide shows that RIM is launching them under a different moniker, the BlackBerry L- and N-series.

First come the BlackBerry L-series, a lineup that seems to copy modern smartphones and do away with the physical keyboard. Here’s what we know about the L series so far:
  • 768×1280 screen resolution
  • 55mm wide
  • 356 PPI

Next, the BlackBerry N-series are basically the new Bolds. They will come with a square screen and the traditional physical QWERTY keyboard. The specs on the N series break down like this:
  • 720×720 screen resolution
  • 52 – 53mm wide
  • 330 PPI

Some sources point out that RIM is doing its best to deliver the handsets to the market as soon as possible and we could have the L series as soon as the first half of September. The N series will come much later in Q1 2013. How do these new devices look to you?

Even if it's a 5 megapixel camera or even 8 they'll make it without auto focus :(

it probably wont have a camera but a piece of paper on the back with a pencil so you can draw them instead.

N-Series?!
I had two N-Series models before Nokia nearly failed and was eventually bought out by Microsoft.
That same N-Series line was quickly and permanently discontinued and lost both updates and support from Nokia...
The N-Series former Flagship line from Nokia was the tell-tale marker of Nokia's imminent downfall.
RIMM is now launching a N-Series line--a tell-tale marker of RIM's eventual buyout or even sadder downfall. Nokia had dozens of unique models, materials, patents, and innovations, but after 14 years at the top they were beat out by Samsung and their stock is the lowest it's been in 8 years.
RIM was nothing more than a qwerty keyboard for people who thought that they were business professionals. The fact that they're still relevant boggles my mind. This N-Series marks the beginning of the end for them.
If we studied history well enough we would actually learn from our past mistakes.

theyll probably throw in a 5mp without flash. a 2gb preinistalled memory card. and thats it. you have to buy the propriatary charger that theyre coming out with seperate... well because they clearly need the money.

Poor RIM... such an unexciting product coming out to compete with the SGIII and the next iphone. Unfortunately, it will be a flop.

duuno about the US and europe, where people have moved on. but in south asia and middle east BB is still very popular, coz of BBM. so they still have a big chance there, even if they are flopper or/and costlier than android

16. kvenderley posted on 3 days ago, 11:00 4

BB is only popular to the big business that have the business accounts with a ton of bb's to all employees. other than that, Blackberry SUCKS! its so trailing in every category way behind android and apple. Anyone who gets a new BB should be patted on the back and told "im sorry"

Blackberry won't succeed again in the mobile business because of there stouberness when it comes to mobile gaming and hardware. Blackberry aims to make Blackberry phones for the business professional when all the business professionals are turning to Android, iOS and Windows Phone. Blackberry can be a big hit again if they utilize quad core processors, HD Displays, 1GB of ram and more, Better cameras and better Signal reception. Blackberry can also be a big hit with teens if it ads a large selection of Games to its App store. Kids want to be different, they don't want to be the same as everyone else using iPhones, so using a blackberry could be Unique.
