Apple seeks to deliver another blow to HTC with anti-competitive charges in federal court

HTC hasn't had much luck lately against Apple on the patent litigation front, and it looks like Cupertino wants to keep it that way. Apple notified the ITC today that it has filed claims in Virginia federal court alleging that HTC has engaged in various anti-competitive practices relating to the assertion of two standards-essential patents against Apple. The filing alleges seven claims of misconduct by HTC, including fraud and conspiracy to commit fraud, conspiracy, and various federal and state antitrust violations. Given the sheer number of patents that have been thrown around by these companies in their ongoing patent battle, Apple's attack on just two patents may seem unimportant at first glance. In some circumstances that likely would be true, but in this one it could be a very big deal, especially given HTC's limited patent...

Apple expands the iOS and Mac App Stores to 32 new territories

Apple announced at its WWDC keynote that the iOS and Mac App Stores would become available in 32 additional territories, and now the new stores have gone live. In an email sent out to developers, the company says that apps will automatically be stocked in these countries once a new iOS Paid Applications or Mac OS X Paid Applications contract has been signed.

Belkin @TV Plus media streamer to be available mid-July for $149.99

Belkin has been on a tear lately, expanding its products in areas like home automation and routers. The latest is the @TV Plus, a media-streaming box that will let you stream media over 3G or Wi-Fi.
