FIFA 13 Ultimate Edition is "most extensive global pre-order incentive in FIFA history"

24 FIFA Ultimate Team gold packs on-board

My lonely struggle to conquer FIFA 13 and the subject of football in general continues. You're not helping with these oddball (geddit?) pre-order incentives, EA. I mean, since when was football a card game? And since when did football teams correspond to footwear, rather than cities and countries?

The publisher has announced FIFA 13's Ultimate Edition, billed "the most extensive pre-order incentive in the history of the FIFA franchise". It'll be available to buy on FIFA 13's launch day only - 28th September 2012 - so if you're not preordering, you'll need to be first in the queue.

The Ultimate Edition provides access to 24 FIFA Ultimate Team gold packs, worth £15 in total and handed out at a rate of one a week. Each pack offers a random assortment of players, contracts, stadiums, managers, staff, fitness, healing, balls, kits and badges - 12 per pack, including one 75+ rated player and one rare item.

Need more incentives? Order the game from Amazon, and you'll tap the Football Club bonus - 10,000 EA Sports Football Club credits to redeem against in-game items like Virtual Pro attribute boosts and special celebrations. I'm sure glad Eurogamer knows what all this means.

Preorder from GAME, meanwhile, and you'll swipe the adidas All-Star Team bonus - a 23-man adidas-branded team which includes Lionel Messi, Nani and Karim Benezema, all of whom are presumably famous footballers. The squad wears special adidas kits that can be used in Online Pro Clubs.
