Assassin's Creed 3 city gameplay video: Connor rocks around Boston

We built this city on duck and roll

New Assassin's Creed 3 gameplay footage has infiltrated Youtube, showing Connor out and about on (and often, above) the mean streets of Boston.

This looks very much like the stuff Gametrailers showed off at E3, but I haven't watched all of it. Enjoy while it lasts.

  1. Looks really good, like the fact that you can use other things other than hay piles to hide in.Quite a lot off sneaking around according to that vid. then.Great stuff. :D

Good how you can actuall y run through houses.Hope the fight in the marketplace was for the vid. though, the idea used to be to get in and out without conflict if possible.

  2. Some really nice moves there, especially like the one where he gets someone to call a guard over before killing them round a corner.

And nice to see Ubi sticking to their policy of not taking sides in a conflict by once again having nothing but Redcoats killed. For God's sake guys just release one video showing a Revolutionary being killed and you can stop an awful lot of complaints from this side of the pond. After all you're Canadian and we twice went to war to stop the Yanks invading you.

  3. Maybe they are trying to piss off the scots. as well, the last guy he killed was wearing a kilt.

I've noticed this as it stands, plenty of talk about taking no sides, but no footage... :?

I hope this doesn't turn out to be 'Mel Gibsons: The Patriot: The Video Game'

  5. This looks great, the enhanced game play additions like hugging corners is something Ive always wanted in these games. it adds so much more to the stealth element. Though the guards still seem a little thick...like a guy with a bow and arrow wouldn't stand out in the crowd of traders haha
My main gripe with the Assassins Creed games, especially brotherhood and revelations is that the new characters that are introduced are so completely forgettable and boring (And I include Ezio in there too). At times I had no idea what they were saying simply because I found the scenes so completely dull that my attention was focused elsewhere, like checking my phone/Facebook for example.
With the introduction of the American revolution and characters like George Washington and Benjamin Franklin it sounds like this could be more of the exciting story that the series needs.

  6. Yeah let's hope not, they do like singing their own praises though the Yanks. They didn't let Vietnam drop for fifty years and they lost.Yet to listen to every yank it was a draw. The conflict against us brits. might be the next one they even got mention off it in Fallout 3.

  7. Just now I understand how bad I am with this game, the new movements and options really uplifting the game experience, it is weird though that with all the new addition, still assassin 1 was the greatest of them all, I will never figure it out.

  8. I really hope this game isn't as jingoistic as it looks...

  9. Really can't wait now! :D I be M.I.A for a while when this is out.

  10. Is it just me, or does the appearance of the Assassin's get less inconspicuous in each generation?

Altair could blend in because there were a fair few people wearing robes and packing blades - even Ezio's outfit suited the fashion of the time, and he had his sword nicely tucked away under a cape.

But really, Connor can sprint around wearing a hood and a dirty great bow and it only occurs to the guards that he might be the killer they've been told to find when he nails one in the gut? He was literally the only armed person apart from the guards in the video. And the only person dressed like an Assassin, which you'd think the Templars would've cottoned on to by now. They deserve to be slaughtered for that incompetence! I know the Assassins like to hide in plain sight, but at least let's start putting some thought into the 'hide' part.

Seriously though, despite the slight implausibility of our protagonist's get-up, the game looks ruddy awesome.
