About Me

I like making stock picks. I like almost everything about it—from screening for suitable investments and evaluating a company’s future prospects to analyzing financial statements and performing valuations. In my former role as Senior Equity Analyst of the Forbes Investors Advisory Institute, I got to do more than my fair share of this with great success. As the top stock picker for the Forbes Special Situation Survey, my contributions produced the only investment newsletter ranked in the top ten (out of 186) in overall performance on a five-year, three-year, and one-year basis according to newsletter ranking service Hulbert Financial Digest (for periods ending July 30, 2010). Of the numerous stocks recommended during my ten-year span, those specifically identified by me had an average gain of nearly 20% over an average holding period of just 11 months. Currently, I’m working to achieve the same level of success as Editor of the Forbes Growth Investor, an investment newsletter that utilizes a hybrid stock selection model based on both quantitative and fundamental analysis.
