About Me
A Chartered Financial Analyst, I began my investment career by specializing in municipal bonds at First Interstate Bank in Los Angeles in 1985. I then served as Chief Investment Officer of a private investment firm in San Diego, and as a Managing Director at MBIA, Inc., an S&P 500 company specializing in financial guarantees and investment management. I founded Creekside’s predecessor firm in 2003.
In 1998, the California State Treasurer appointed me as a technical advisor to the California Debt and Investment Advisory Commission. I also served as an expert consultant to the Securities and Exchange Commission on a landmark securities enforcement case. I have given expert testimony to a California State Senate subcommittee.
I am a member of the American Mensa Society and the CFA Society. I have served as a board member of the Financial Analysts Society of San Diego. I graduated from the University of Maryland with High Honors in Economics, and attended the UCLA Graduate School of Economics under a University Fellowship.
