In 2001 Peter was world No. 1 before he injured his knee - which put him out of business for almost one year. But now after five years Peter got the top spot back. Since Thursday he is world No. 1 again.

"I didn't expect it but I'm very happy. To get on top of Lin Dan on the world ranking is a great thing - even though it may be for a short time it's worth a lot to me. This is the final proof for myself that I'm back from my injury. I'm proud of it and will enjoy it for the following week or maybe more", Peter explained.
